Plus having to go to 3 different vendors to get only like 9-10 total digipicks is so tedious to maintain the quantity.

For example, it took years, but from 3 or so years ago to now, skyrim started to get crazy combat animation mods that completely change the gameplay. And there's 6 or so big mods that changes all perks, plus a lot of small changes, and mods that can make this perks mods work together so you don't have to choose, and also mods that add hundreds of new magic. Never underestimate the modding comunity for bethesda games.

With most games i don't do glitches or exploits and try to keep to the developer intended experience. But with Bethesda all is fair. If I don't enjoy something it goes out the window. If I want the game to be more tedious and immersive then I'll install appropriate mods. If my follower blocks the way ill noclip through the wall. If an enemy is feels unbalanced i will killallhostiles. Game has no game braking bugs because i have so many ways to go around them (crashes don't count...). After 10 years of Skyrim I'm still playing it. The only other game I've played as long is Minecraft. And that game too is all about player freedom. Best games I've played in my life, because they are literally tailor made by me for me.

The reason mo2 is so good is because it doesn't physically install the mods into your game, it virtualizes itself doing so, so if you Uninstall a mod, the loose files and shit aren't going to be stuck in your game folder and then corrupt your install, which was a massive problem for fallout 4 because if how mods are made for newer versions of the creation engine (the same engine they have been using since morrowind)
@notmyregret Жыл бұрын
To be fair, while a good portion of the mods are coomer mods in skyrim, the vast majority are mods that outright improve or expand the game. Thousands of mods that add weapons, armor, quests, expansions, etc... and that's typically what gets added to MxR mod highlights.

5:20 this is what i try to tell people who're vanilla snobs and say "i will never play with mods, i like to experience games as intended". They dont comprehend that modders can do what devs DIDNT do for MONTHS, but in days. Modders are talented, and sometimes devs THEMSELVES (of other projects). Mods make almost every game better, period. Use mods. Live life. Have fun. Drop your illogical rules. OG devs dont always know whats BEST for the game, even if you love the game. We're sitting for 9 months waiting for the original devs of so many games, implement UI fixes or quality of life stuff, that never comes. But if a game is moddable, in 2 days its done. Period. And its not glitchy, not buggy, not ugly. It's of the same quality as the original game. Use mods people. Love mods. Love yourselves.
@lukebytes536611 ай бұрын
Quality of life doesn't inherently make a game better. Mods are for people who want to play a game their way and not the developers, and that's great. But that requires you to actually play the original game to figure out what's best for you in the first place. Sometimes that means playing as originally intended.

Yep and all the mods some of us mod makers don't want to release to public because Bethesda and other companies implement mod content without mod makers permissions into their games. They make millions to make a half finished game while people that actually care about attention to detail and quality get nothing to finish making the game they attempted to make. We keep our personal mods to our closed friend groups. We can't even sell our mods because it might get bought by someone who will post it somewhere and allow the game maker to get ahold of it. Really wish it wasn't the way it is, but mod makers have to protect their work from being hijacked and claimed by big name companies with millions of dollars to back up their claims against you. For years I modded by myself but I found a group of modders and first thing we all do when we get a new game is start tearing it apart, grabbing any package extractors to edit files and utilities needed to mod. It's so nice having a group all giving each other mods and working together to make the game better. Feels amazing you are playing the game a way no one else gets to experience, but also kind of disheartening and sad you can't share the same experience with others without risking your work being hijacked.

i suspect the mods are being created so fast because fallout and skyrim already had huge modding communities and these modders built off whatnwas already there, stuff like the script extender and "StarUI" are likely built from the skyrimscript extender and skyUI. they had this stuff ready for launch , like they were working on it to get it out there as soon as physically possible

@thelifeofkenji4900 Жыл бұрын
I'd bet that they spent a ton of time building the mod tools with the foresight of all the stuff that should be in the game, but the awareness that if you give the modders the tools to build it, Bethesda don't need to spend their own time and budget implementing it all. The relationship between bethesda and modders is like an author of a colouring book. Bethesda make the outline drawing, then modders do the colouring in.

Script extenders are not really a typical 'mod' in the strictest sense. It is kind of but its more a framework dll that 'hacks legally' into the game executable opening up the game for complex modding. But only PC gamers can have this because its a windows executable. Sorry console people. But script extender is almost as important to the game itself for high level modding.
@RealNefastus Жыл бұрын
That's basic stuff for Bethesda games since people tend to go crazy with the mods, they need to modify the game's .ini files and overall add more functions to it. If it was simple add texture, add sound etc. mods, sure but making big changes need those "extra mods" such as SFSE. But that's basic stuff for people who got into deep modding of Skyrim where you have like 20 required mods to run the other 80.

Nah, the Skyrim modding community was absolutely insane. Some mods even spun off into full blown games (The Lost City) themselves, you could even mod LotR into Skyrim. I'm not expecting the same for Starfield, since there isn't the same love and passion from gamers.
@RabidBeast45 Жыл бұрын
@@DarkEnigma1115 The game had more mods before official release than most games have after years of being released lmao. Bethesda has had official mod tools since morrowind, at least, and they fully embrace the help and efforts of their fans to create new content or patch bugs that weren't caught during testing or just due to lack of time. These games are massive with hundreds of hours of gameplay without mods alone. There's a reason why there is not a single true competitor to bethesda. The resources and time needed to make these games will result in either a star citizen or a game that fully embraces mods and help from the actual player base. I don't know about you but I'd rather play a modded game than none at all.
