Eh, there are cases where not allowing mods make sense, just that inherently single-player games aren't one of them. If you want to mod the shit out of your isolated experience beyond recognition, go for it. Very little reason for a dev to be against that except their vision. When it isn't an isolated experience how ever, then there's a myriad of issues that can arise from giving players too much control.

Video made sense to me having played a lot of the content shown but I could see how someone who's never played modded would be confused af, specially since it's not really edited in chronological order just jumping around. 28:30 perfectly encapsulates the worst part about Calamity. Friends will never have the same schedules as each other, and it only takes one afternoon for 2 or 3 major bosses to be defeated and never revisited. I myself have always had a full time job while doing Calamity with friends, which we've done 3 times, and 0 of those times have I fought every boss, including Calamitas. And with how long and drawn out Calamity is, people have to take a break from it for a pretty good while before they're ready for another run.

You have very petty friendships... Those are always eventful. I've had a couple like that. It always starts off innocent, maybe you take an item they wanted or vice versa. Then you get that tingle of irritation, like you've been wronged. So you wait, maybe you don't say anything but you wait, until they need something from you. Then you do the whole "You come to me in your hour of need" bit and basically tell them to fuck off because you were marginally irritated by something they did to you. Which in turn causes them to get that feeling you had at the start. Slowly but surely it escalates and before you know what started as slight pettiness, devolves into madness, fucking each other over getting closer and closer to the breaking point until one of you crosses the line. The line, of course, varies on friendships. But the first person to cross that line makes the ultimate mistake, because now the other party has the "moral high ground" as if they wouldn't have eventually done the same. Then it normally becomes arguing and hopefully no one else in the friend group picks sides and it all works out, good ending. Bad ending, one the parties is more disliked and gets ganged up on by the other friends in the group and gets pushed out, or just berated for being wrong. And ultimately it could have all been avoided if either one of you was less petty. Sure you could say on of you started it, but it doesn't really matter, what matters is that neither of you let go of it.

I think its a testament to the imaculate dificulty design of calamity terraria that for 90% of post moon lord bosses me and my friend consistently died in 5 seconds and both said "there is no way that's the fight" only to beat it days, sometimes weeks later, imediatly trivialize it in a couple hours and go on to repeat the process for every single other boss.

Man my first full calamity play through was a power trip, while yes I admit, I had some other mods with the assist like alchemist npc and lui afk, but in my 3 person play through which dropped to 2 at the end, I was a mele, and I soloed 50% of the game, hard mode specifically, beating multiple bosses and a lot of the early post moonlord bosses without mi friend, when I say calamity mele is a god complex, you can rank infinite damage and you dish out a insane amount at the same time
