Super job .. Love messing with my Vostoks.... Got the Submarine black dial Komandirske Looks great with an upgrade bezel and the rubber strap... Wish Vostok would make a shallow display case so the amphibia watches don't sit so high on the wrist..

Yeah, I have the large glass caseback on my Amphibia and it makes the watch sit quite high on the wrist. My thinner watches have been getting more wrist time because of that...my next mod will be an Amphibia converted to manual wind and a thinner caseback!

Thanks! Not sure if I will have another video for a while :( I just purchased a case #420 Vostok that I will attempt a brushed finish on and I'm unsure about what else to do. Perhaps convert it to a manual wind only movement and fit a thinner caseback? Have also been really wanting a caliber 3133 chronograph but that definitely won't be getting modded unless I can source a sapphire crystal!

Look for "favinov" on eBay or Meranom. The only difference is that Favinov re-lumes with Superluminova

Hi, I have a KOMANDIRSKIE 811289. Is it possible to transfer the entire movement along with the dial to 110 or 120 case for Amphibia.

It should be possible, although there are some things you need to consider. 1. You'll need a movement fixing ring for an Amphibia, not the one that came with the Komandirskie. I believe that there are no screw holes in the Komandirskie movement mainplate so you will need to figure out a way to securely attach it. 2. The Amphibia caseback will be fine, but Meranom sells flat casebacks that make your watch much thinner. I recommend getting one of those.

Awesome! I've been wondering if I would be able to get a bezel/insert on a 811 case. I have a 811306 haha. It also pairs really nicely with a black and gray NATO in my opinion.

I tried NATOs for a while, but I don't like the extra height that it adds to the watch. I've been looking for a 2-piece strap made from the same material as NATOs, but they all have the same weird hardware rather than a single buckle and nylon keeper. I know what you mean, the watch sits high as is. I have mine on a one piece NATO strap right now. it doesn't raise it too much.

Also the bezel on this watch is one piece, silver with close to half black line and dots and the remaining lines and dots red. This is one piece so I am confused as to a "two" piece bezel type option? IF, i remove the bezel, there is nothing there so what do you advise I get to essentially mount a NEW bezel? I would LOVE this to be RED if at all possible based on cost etc. PLEASE advise, I am an avid watch collector BUT have yet to dive into ANY modification elements and skill regarding, YES, i need a little hand holding, lol thanks

Sorry, I'm not sure if I completely understand your question. There is the bezel, which is the stainless steel piece that mounts onto the watch. The bezel insert is the colored (usually anodized or painted aluminum) that is glued into the bezel. Some will come as two pieces that you need to glue and others are already assembled for you.

24h No, there are no screws in the side of the movement. The dial is just pushed with the feet into the movement. There must be something to hold the dial. I just pulled it off, fits tight on there. It was installed in a Komandirskie from 2013/14.

24h There are no holes for the screws. No glue or anything like that. Just the feet pushed into the holes on the front where they belong. The screws to mount the movement to the plastic ring are also missing. But there are holes to take the screws. Perhaps Vostok made the production cheaper and redesigned the movement. It was new watch. A friend bought it for me in Kiew and took it to Germany. If I remember correctly that was in late 2013 or early 2014. The movement will be installed into an old 119 tonneau case as soon I will receive the needed parts.

@@Feldwaldwiese That's odd. I have some Komandirskie watches from within the last couple of years and they all have screws for the dials. If I remember correctly, one of them might have had screws to fix the movement to the movement ring but the others did not have those screws.

Replacing the screws that exert force against the dial feet so that is stays on top of the movement. You don't want the dial coming loose :) It isn't necessary to completely remove the dial screws (only loosen them) but I have a habit of doing so.

24h if I just want to move my dial/movement to a new case, I only need to remove the crown/stem and movement holder (as a minimum), correct?

Hi . Nice video. I know the Amphibia can take the seiko SKX007 bezels easily.. Is this also true of the Komandirskies ? Are the bezelz compatible between the two ? All I know is that on the Amphibia's, you have to be sure of the case , as it might interferewith the crown , but otherwise they're all compatible

Joseph Cachia I don’t think that Seiko bezels with fit on Vostoks, but SKX007 bezel INSERTS will fit on many of the bezels designed for Vostok. Only my Amphibia has a Seiko insert, so I can’t speak for the Komandirskie. The watch in this video has a bezel from Meranom lumed by Favinov.

Very skilled but at the price point the best part of the mod was the bezel swap. I would have went with an Aviator type plain face, better lumins, the bezel you put on, and a leather NATO band. For $20 to $60 bucks I would have gotten one more to my liking to begin with. There are so many types.

Correct! It started out as an 811066 but I changed it to a 306 dial. First 2 digits are case shape, third digit is the finishing, and last 3 digits are the dial.
