Fos Scale Models - Model Railroad Structure Kits

Күн бұрын

Model an HO Scale Tree showing actual roots - the tree is made of sage brush, and the roots carved from Sculpey clay. You'll see it's quite easy to make a realistic, well rooted tree for your layout or diorama. Great for N, HO or O scale.

I used to attach a small block of wood under the trunk and do a subtractive carve, leaving the exposed roots.😳 Your clay method is SO much easier. Why didn't I think of that?🤔 Smack!!! (sound of palm hitting forehead) lol And that tree is looking great on your million-dollar layout!🤗 🚂Lawrence

I liked the "Arteest" out in the woods with his drawing tablet freezing his Butt off to get the details needed to make realistic trees! Good Job, Buddy

Too many times I've seen trees just stuck in the ground like a telephone pole, or having an obvious base, with a meager attempt to hide it, this makes for a much more realistic tree imo. I also think that too many model trees have foliage that is too thick, yours looks fine to me.

I love work like this and ponder the question about how consuming this commitment is for the modeler. One tree... a twenty minute video. I know there is setup but I can't imagine it would take much less time to create this tree. And when I look at your layout the AMAZING attention to detail... all of that takes hours and hours and hours. Breathtaking. I know you're not alone as a hobbyist but you certainly give amazing attention to detail. I had to subscribe so I can't watch more of what you do. You remind me of the folks making small dioramas... but you're bringing that level of attention to the whole layout. Takes my breath away. Deep respect. And your banter while working is excellent as well. You have a lovely voice and very friendly manner. Thanks.

Thanks for watching Curtis. It is time consuming, but of course everyone works at what ever level is best for them. Usually a layout is a lifelong project, so it works out, for me anyway.

Where is your company located? I am in Kansas City MO but soon to retire in MN. In my retirement years I am going to build a layout. Layout number 4. Your level of craftsmanship is the benchmark I want to achieve. It will take time.

For snow covered trees would apply the green flocking still before applying the snow?

Depends on the tree, evergreens yes. But other trees would have no leaves....thx for watching!
