Singapore's top model management is holding their annual open casting again.
With 450 tickets sold on the first day of release, the bookers are expecting much more from this batch of auditionees, especially with this year's height requirement being brought down to 165cm, the lowest ever in the past five years. Will the bookers be able to find gems out of the lot?

I feel nervous just watching them audition lmao, I think it takes a lot for someone to stand in front of so many people and be judged based on their appearance (Insecurities, everything just comes flooding in). All the best trainees!! If you get accepted, great! But if you don't, chin up and move forward! There will ALWAYS be somewhere else that is meant for you, take this audition as an experience. *big hugs* To add, the judges also seem extremely professional, especially when judging someone's appearance. They are honest yet their demeanour carries no sarcasm or malicious intent, it's just very straight forward and that's how it should be sometimes.

Interesting episode :) For the ticketing system perhaps the team can look into putting a deposit (eg $10) for people who book a slot for open casting, having it on hold, and only releasing the amount back to those who have attended on the actual day. i.e. a little like how Kumoya does their reservations. So technically no transactions would be made unless someone backs out last min eg within 24 hours. This would deter people who are less serious about modelling and back out last min.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. We have considered this as well but ultimately went against it as the fee might put off any any potential models we might like. Hopefully the Covid situation improves so we don't have to implement this for next year.

Due to the age limit, many of those models with hidden talent can not go further in the industry. They should get a chance with their confidence. In actual not the age but the hard-work and willing confident of a person can only define him / her. Sorry, if my opinion goes wrong. I would like to appeal the agency to extend a little bit age limit. So that, people like others with 25,26 ages could also give a try to the agency.

Skin is not a big problem but age of 20 is a bit late to start modeling but it should be fine if she could get her skin treated i think she has really big potential. Am I the only one who’s disturbed by the way the employees of this agency act? I understand that there are some beauty standards or expectations of models, but the least you could do is blur out those “I’m afraid it’s a no” faces to protect their identities, isn’t it? I really can’t imagine how hurtful it must’ve been for those poor youngsters who went there with high hopes and big dreams. Now, with their faces shown permanently on KZbin, you’re forcing them to relive the moment, and how can the sensitive ones cope with this? How can they feel safe to go out without feeling constantly judged? Heck, you’re shaming them permanently on this platform! These ppl disgusts me so much, the fact that they are even producing a series blows my mind. The only person that’s humane enough is probably Nerissa; at least she’s apologetic when she had to reject people based on SOMETHING THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER (age). In summary based on what I’ve watched, this agency is filled with ppl who are freaking ugly at heart. What is going on……

Tbh I think it would’ve been nice to blur but I have a feeling they might have had to sign some agreement to be filmed for this series especially since they put up promo on the walls, the contestants likely knew they were gonna be filmed so that’s something to consider I guess

It's a modeling agency for god sake. If they didn't want to be shown, then DON'T come to a modeling agancy to audition knowing that your short and can't meet the height requirement. Elise was nice enough to even do an appereance check instead of just saying straight up no thx. And, this is their third season doing it, so they know what their doing. If people think that you are sensitive and privacy is really big and your face cant be shown to the internet from a 19k sub yt chanel then i'm sorry, they shouldnt have even came.

Hi, we understand your concerns, there is always room for improvement in the way we handle things. But do note that this is an open casting call for a modelling agency. All applicants know what they are signing up for. 1) This is not our first season. Applicants know we will be recording this. 2) Applicants that are attending the event have been sent an application form that clearly state that filming and photography will be taking place. 3) Those applicants that Elise rejected with "I'm afraid it's a no" are people who did not meet the height requirements we stated. If you watched the video, she asked them for permission if they would liked to be judged on their appearance in spite of their height. And she did let a few through to the final stage after looking at their appearance. This situation will not even happen if people are not masked up due to Covid or we just reject everyone who did not meet the height requirement. We are trying to make the situation best for everyone by giving people more chances to get through. Our intention is to document the process so aspiring models know what to expect of the industry. It is not our intention to shame anyone, but we hear you and we will take your feedbacks into consideration for future production.

@@midnightat3am Yeap I agree with you, that some sort of agreement should’ve been signed to seek consent etc. but the timing of the signature makes a difference, ie. Are they signed before their judgmental rejection or after? If it’s after, then I should stfu and will withdraw my suggestion. If it’s before their rejection, then it’s unfair to them in my opinion.

All the crew, including Bonita, had ART test done right before the event. The bookers actually explained in the video that she wasn't feeling well because of stomach cramps.

All crew did ART before the event. The event is limited to applicants who are vaccinated. All safety distancing is adhered to and everyone is masked up. Bonita was having her period so she was unwell. I think it is normal to cough a little when she was talking to so many people from morning to afternoon in a dry aircon room. We did above and beyond what was required to make the event a safe environment for everyone. We are very scared of contracting Covid too. And if anything goes wrong, the agency and the models will have to stop working for weeks. Why would we risk that?
