Great work. The work and the model deserves a sound decoder.

I'll have to see. The tender I am using is tiny. I'm actually trying to see if I can fit a capacitor in there since the electrical pickup on these things seems a little sketchy. If I have to choose between good operation and sound, then it'll be operation. Thanks for the kind words and for watching!

very nice work am enjoying the series have built a number of Nn3 engines but larger wheel base like the size of this I have fast tracks jigs and have built dual gauge turnouts all are working, found it interesting to see your approach to building them
@DanielCortopassi2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Now that I have the layout partly operating I need to get back to working on this locomotive. The turnouts are definitely challenging because there are so many parts and the small size. As I'm writing this I still need to build a few more of them. Thanks for watching!

That’s so crazy. I never knew that N scale had a narrow gauge like HOn30 or On30. Awesome, and great engine looks great too.

Nn3 has been kind of a tiny niche for a long time. I've wanted to do something in it for a really long time, but this is the first serious effort I've made in quite a while. I am looking forward to getting this thing running. It's going to be the main power for the narrow gauge portion of our N scale Siren Creek layout that's being built at the same time. If you haven't already seen it I have videos about the layout construction here on the channel, too. Thanks for watching!

I'm hoping to get back to this soon. I put it aside for a while so I could focus on working on the N/Nn3 layout where it will run. Thanks for watching!

Damn. I was really hoping that coupler was going to come out at the wrong height...I was looking forward to deducting 5 points!

Haha... When I build something like this I make sure that it comes out at the right height. Thanks for watching!

I don't envy you working on such small parts. I will one day buy a resin 3D printer, so knowing the fragility of the prints is helpful.
@DanielCortopassi3 жыл бұрын
This one is pretty tiny. These parts are from Shapeways so I'm not sure how the material would compare to a home 3D printer. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve though. Thanks for watching!

Ok you got me hooked...what happens next???
@DanielCortopassi3 жыл бұрын
I need to permanently attach the cab and add some more details to the locomotive. I also need to work on the tender and devise a way to hook it up with the engine. I'm not sure which one of those I'll tackle in the next episode. Thanks for watching!

@@DanielCortopassi im intrigued. Thank you bro. I follow yous guys and i say your doing it like a pro!!

Try using CA glue to saturate the Shapeways 3D print. The printed material is porous and the CA fills the material and minimizes breakage.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try that.

I'm not entirely sure yet. I am going to do more detailing on the locomotive now that all the basic stuff is there. Thanks for watching!
