Really enjoyed this video, if you could only have one, would you choose this or the microcosm? Might be apples to oranges but curious on your thoughts. Thanks!

Thanks! I haven’t had the chance to test the microcosm in person. But your question does make sense because they are both around the same price tag and they can easily end up as you next investment choice. You know which one I have chosen but I would say I was going for Neon Egg because it a “hand crafted”pedal, it one guy making it. But technically, reverb and compressor are heavy duty effects that you would need in your rig, so for me chorus was a bonus. Microcosm feels for me more like a creative effect that you would use for ear candy or to generate ideas other than have it always plugged in. But again I have not tried the microcosm myself and these are just my two cents. A big bonus for neo egg was the possibility to side chain the compressor. Hope it helps

@@ShaperSoundChannel that does make sense! The aesthetics and sound of both are great but I do like that Neon Egg is a one man team, it’s such a neat unit. If I can justify the expense (I just got into my first synth) I’ll likely pick one up. They seem to hold their value well too. And that sidechain! 🔥

As far as I know it is about improvement in its components and circuits, it was not about changing functionality. Neon Egg is a one man band so the pedal version was more of an engineering necessity than a marketing one.

If I remember correctly Neon Egg mentions an Integrated circuit ship that is being pushed to its limits creating saturation on feedback so DPS. But I need to check the manuals again.

Now giving it a second thought… it is not because you use IC that it is digital, you would need a microprocessor to run software to be digital. Therefore I know that delay , at least, is analog. But not sure about compression and chorus…
