Very nice, and kudos on building something a little different (not another BF-109 or Spitfire). First time I've seen someone use green stuff as gap filler - seemed to work out well.

Thanks :) I didn't know about that way of using the Green Stuff too. A friend told me about it and I decided to give it a try :) It's way more convenient than traditional putty in some cases (like this one).

I had the same problem with nose weight. I ended up with so much 'shot' in the nose that my nose gear buckled. Still, a lovely model all round and I'll deffo build another.

Thank you for this tutorial: I'll partly use your methods in my building. Will you be so kind to tell is it very difficult to take off liquid mask after painting? It's seems to me that it not so easy.

You're welcome :) As for the liquid mask - there's nothing easier than removing it. You can just roll it off with your finger. It's just an elastic silicone-like layer that is not attached to the surface. The most convenient way is just to use a toothpick and scrape it off delicately (wood should not scrape the clear part when used delicately).

Very nice, and good to know about the ballast issues up front ( no pun intended). Maybe the inside of the bomb can help with that?

The bomb is located at the very center of gravity of the plane. Better is to put the counterweight as far on the front as possible.

Outstanding work! Shame they didn't include a set of Soviet markings. I always thought these planes looked good with red stars.

Thanks :) I checked the history of this set on scalemates and there are versions of this very model with the soviet painting pattern. I just preferred this one.

Shame on you, Big Modeller, it doesn't take 10 hours to knead the green stuff, only 9 hours at the worst :) I recently bought one of these older Eduard kits, with the nose weight included - hopefully it will be enough. Anyway, your excellent build has given me lots of inspiration. I know I'll never attain your level of quality, but at least I now know what to aim for.

I didn't know there are sets with the ballast included. In this Cobra they didn't even write in the instructions how much weight should be added. Anyway, thanks for the good words :)
