Excellent video, the 'timesaver' is a work of art on it's own, but it will fit beautifully into this amazing project.

Instead of making a 22 and 24 inch radius, here’s what I did. I made both radiuses the same but started the curve. 2 inches later on the outside curve. This created an affect that made these centre distance wider so that cars and locomotives could easily pass by each other Better
@OtterCreek4 ай бұрын
I'll give that a shot.

The ghosting effect in of you placing the trial radius was a nice video touch. The Subscribe! message on the rear of the motorcycle also was a nice touch. That was very kind of Lynn McCurdy to gift you that box of rolling stock. I always enjoy watching you analyze and solve issues. Regards.

Dennis you know you don't have to put your switch motors directly under your switches. Sometimes you just can't but then you make a throw arm. That way you won't have to change anything. Good luck figuring out things. Great update
@OtterCreek4 ай бұрын
@@CM-ARM Putting them off center would require more effort. Yes I know it can be done. There are several options for this. I view those options a last resort because the simplest and most efficient way is directly beneath. As mentioned in the video everything I will run on the layout clears with these motors and nothing needs changes. Thanks Chris!!

Hi Dennis. May I make a suggestion. When you come out of the time saver put in a canyon with some scratch built bridges and that should help with scenery transition.
@OtterCreek4 ай бұрын
I do have a few ideas in mind for the scenery. A gorge between a plunging fascia and the track is part of my idea. I'm just not sure how the view block between the two different scenes will work yet. Trees will be a big part I think. I can see it in my minds eye, but it's difficult to explain in writing or even verbally. Thanks Sierge!

Mighty fine lookin' RR you are a buildin' Dennis.🤠 I love the way you knock together framing in time with some zippy tune and make it all look so effortless! The question is, Do those midget switch motors actually work?🤔 (lol, of course they do! ha ha . . . er . . . do they?) . . . . . 🚂Lawrence
@OtterCreek4 ай бұрын
Thanks Lawrence! The midgets do work, I'm not real proud of the higher pitch sound they make when they fire but hey, the fit the build.

You are not far from that goal of spotting a car in the timesaver from the "new" layout, maybe by the end of September.

Thanks Roy, there are a few non railroad related hiccups slowing me down right now, more likely the end October I'm afraid.
