Stephen, Scenery is ready adding realism! Watching the trains move through the new scenes is really nice. I particularly like the bushes you added along the track to the left side of the field. It's coming along nicely. Lamar

WOW! Great work on blending the less-than-ideal backdrop into the scenery. I've waiting for months to see how you guys would overcome that challenge. Very impressed. Keep it up, Team Bennett!

I like the way you move your cars and figures around for diffurent scene shots at the same scene.

Looks really nice! Love it that you always have somewhere random German DB Cargo rolling stock on the layout.

An amazing amount of green scenery and it all looks good and realistic. Beautifully blended into the back scene too.

I really do like how your 'incidental' vehicles and folks move around telling little stories - almost as a by the way .

Hey guys I'm playing catch-up. The layout it looking awesome!!!!!! So here's a tip on the trees if you don't know. They look more realistic in clumps of odd numbers. I know what you mean when you find something you forgot you had. That was a great set up and running of trains at the end of the video.

what an awesome layout. just like the real version of cp-97 on csx west of erie.

Great looking layout, just wish I had more space to model in. One thing I did notice was the water tower on the curve leading to the transformer fact. does not have a concrete base , Other than that it's looking good.
@robbennett19658 жыл бұрын
+Otto Bettcher You are correct- it is just placed there to see if it would work- it covers another "issue" on the backdrop. I am not sure I will leave it there, as it needs more room around the base to be more prototypical.

Looking good! Ever thought of attaching a small camera to a loco for a POV tour?
@robbennett19658 жыл бұрын
+M&M Rails We have- and once we get some more scenery done plan to make another run around the layout. Some earlier updates have run arounds with different cameras. It does provide an interesting perspective.

hi stephen,you made a very nice layout. when do you make a video cabride one full turn of your layout?
@robbennett19658 жыл бұрын
+djanozanka We will! Let us get a little bit more of the scenery completed then we will run the camera car around for an engineer's view point. Let's see how realistic it all looks from that view point...
@djanozanka8 жыл бұрын
hi stephen if your layout is not finished, I look forward to its finish. In any case, you did a great job! I am excited to see the video going around the layout. that'll do it!@+

About ballast: I use "N" scale gray ballast on my layout and it looks much better than "HO" ballast, try some and I think you might like the results.

I noticed the CN loco shut off it's headlight when meeting the switcher. Is that normal practice?
@robbennett19658 жыл бұрын
+Bill rouleau According to what we have seen, they dim them and on occasion turn them off when meeting another train- so we just turned it off as it seemed the polite thing to do for the other crew. I am not sure if there is an actual rule pertaining to this.
@railroad90008 жыл бұрын
+Rob Bennett Kind of what I figured. Thanks.

+Jackson Railfan :-) I saw CN locomotives, and I have mostly CP locomotives. Sibling rivalry sort of thing.
@jacksong12188 жыл бұрын
CP 97 has nothing to do with locomotives. It is a spot on the rr where there is a main line coach or control point, aka large signals.

Don't think your train room is large or tall enough for you to have been standing on a 24 ft stepladder!
