Never stop with the tips and tricks brother. I feel like some of the other channels just glide right past the hardest parts and go straight for the amazing results which of some of us may not be able to get to. Plus you,re "non-professional, un polished, raw" approach is most welcoming!

I really appreciate the tire lettering decal tip. Toning it down with that thinned black takes away the "toy" affect and does make it appear more realistic. I'll be doing this on all my future builds with tire lettering. Thank you for sharing. Awesome!

Thanks for the tips. It is these small or sometimes, on their own, insignificant details that combine together to fill out and create the reality of the model. I know that people may not say when extra detail is missing but they really do notice when the extras like tyre brands, wiring, dashboards, padding and (on another of your videos) hinges that work and look like the real thing.

Thanks for the roll bar padding tip. I've got a Dale Earnhardt diecast model by Action that already had a little detail to it but I have been adding more detail to make it look more like the real car. One example is, the interior tub, roll cage, dash, and seat were orange and looked too much like a toy, and those features were all red in the real car, so, I took it all apart, removed the roll cage using a dremel to drill out the heat welds to remove the cage from the floor of the interior tub. I have painted everything red that was red in the real car and painted the dash and panel under the rear window black. I even added some red dial needles to the gauges. Anyhoo, the roll cage didn't have wider parts simulating padding so I just painted those areas black but I just wasn't satisfied with that. I am glad that I came across this video and I have some 1/8 shrink tubing and I am going to try to make some padding for the roll cage. Thanks for the tip!!!
@Funsho97
@Funsho97 2 жыл бұрын
Hey I tried it and it worked great!!! I cut the end off of a q-tip and put the tubing on the stick part and used a lighter to shrink it down and it was the perfect size for the roll cage bars in my model, got a few more pieces to do. Really makes the roll cage look very realistic!!!

Nice Tip with the rollbar. I was searching for something like that because my next project has a rollbar and i want it too look a little bit more realistic. And the Tip with the wires is awesome. The most cars have batteries but without wires. That's a nice tip. Thank you for that. 👍 Greets from Germany.

Luka, this is the first video of yours I've watched, but it won't be the last. I'm a 70+ person who used to build model cars, but I haven't one in 35 years. In the60's I had a collection of between 40-50 detailed 1/25 scale models. This collection was given to a younger brother when I moved out of state in 1969. I believe he still has most of them. I do have 4 or 5 kits unbuilt kits stored away in a closet, I'll have to dig them out. Your tire detailing in this particular video was helpful & something I can use in the future. If your other videos contain the same types of info on different topics, I expect they'll be just as helpful. One thing I have learned over the years is how to airbrush.

Luka, I clear coat my tire sidewalks with gloss before adding the decals. That always seemed to give it something to bite into, then when followed by the dullcoat, it really looked like a rubber tire.

Old electric devices have small different colored wires in them. Those wires can be used to mimic cables and you can shape them to fit. We used to use sewing thread to imitate spark plug wires when I was a kid also. Crafting felt can be made to look like carpet and floor mats. I really liked your detailing hints. Thanks.
