These were such pretty cars and there have been some interesting resto mods of them as well. This model looks pretty impressive and it'd be great to see it built up. It's also nice to see Felix has taken up the hobby; he's in good hands.

I've never built a Tamiya kit. Looks like a good one to start with. Great looking and the details really pop at you. Should be really cool when you can set all three in a mock scene.

Some of my favorite kits have been from Tamiya. The ONLY thing I'm not a fan of is 90% of them are curbside but it's just a Japanese brand thing in general because a lot of the Aoshima, Hasegawa, and Fujimi are the same way too.

Thanks, Curbside kits aren't really my thing and mostly I'm a classic car/early drag car builder. Thus, Tamiya kits don't usually appeal to me. This kit does, it's grabbed my attention.

Tamiya has a number of well engineered kits that were only available for very short times. I'd like to see them re-release the Alfa Romeo GTV kit.

I wish GPM or someone would do a Corsa engine with the GTA air box or a GTAm Injected engine which utilized a different head design and a sliding block rear suspension. These were raced in Europe and the Trans Am series in the US. Jochen Rindt won the Sebring Six Hour overall in 1966 in a GTA. The Trans Am series with Kweck in the GTA and Morton in the Datsun 510 was the pinnacle of sedan racing in the US in the era IMHO. Scale Production has a fender kit and a transkit both available. Enjoy building the kit.

I have the old one. The only difference I saw from your unboxing was the decal sheet and the window masks. Everything else in the box is the same. This is a very beautiful kit. Tamiya quality all the way. The best! BTW does the box say made in Japan or the Philippines?

It's a remarkable kit but be forewarned there is a very difficult mold seam to have to clean up that goes from the c-pillar through a dip in the body and over the fender. Not easy to clean up at all. As to putting flares on it there are bubble flares that are available from a company in Europe can't think of the name of it off the top of my head but they mirror the fenders that are used on the gunze kit.
