I appreciate you and some other KZbinrs for going back through your catalogs to make updated videos. Once you guys have been here long enough the amount of videos becomes difficult to scroll through and YT doesn't always make the process easy at all. Plus, you also get the opportunity to update with things you improved or changed your approach to which benefits us all, old or new viewers.

Luca, I want to thank you for this wiring lesson. I'm 74,retired, and just now getting back into model building after many years. I'm going to see what other details you have to offer. Since I have the time now, I really want to detail more than the kits offer...like "steering", lights etc. (I was a tech for many years). Anyway I would never have thought about engine wiring like that. So thank you Sir. NEVER TO OLD TO LEARN "NEW"

Beautiful, Luka. Fake jewrelry shops have these strings already without the inner cord. I think they use it to build wirst rings or necklaces. Next time, try to build the return coil bracket higher. and glue the return spring at the middle of the throttle rod, not at the tip. It will give you a more horizontal coil with more traction (if it is an actual car) and a more realistic appearence. I m a member of your FC group and I like it too much. Stay good and well.

Nice video. I used to make AN hose ends from thin wire and short pieces of rosin core solder. The solder goes on the end of the stripped wire which is then bent to form the hose end with another piece of solder after the bend. The wire is then painted silver to match the solder and make it look like one piece. After drying it can be painted translucent blue or red simulating anodized aluminum.

One thing I found interesting is you didn’t fill and smooth the joint between the top and bottom of intake since these are casted as one piece in real life. Parked in my garage is a 4 door 1966 Ford galaxy 500 with a 427. As far as I know no model manufacturer make a 66 4 door kit of my car. I was at my local model shop one day and in the old open kit box I found a 66 kit . Now I'm thinking I can buy a new kit of the 2 door and do some surgery. I opend the box to see if it was al there and to surprise there was 2 complete 2 door 1966 galaxy 500 car kits in the same box and I get to use the same paints I sprayed my car with. CHAAAACHING !

At 6:12 is the separation you're talking about with enamels where the paint tends to flow away from the edges more towards the middle of the part, leaving the paint on those edges thinner and allowing the color underneath to kind of stay visible? Or am I experiencing a different issue?
@TheLukaCeeChannel
@TheLukaCeeChannel Жыл бұрын
It's an issue that is common with enamels
@wwiiinplastic4712
@wwiiinplastic4712 Жыл бұрын
@@TheLukaCeeChannel Is it just enamels themselves then and not a lack of levelling agent in the spray itself? I use Mr Surfacer sometimes and it doesn't seem to do what I experience with Krylon or Rustoleum. But it is just a primer; not a paint/primer combo so that may make a difference.

Why don't builders use automotive base/clear paint on builds. It dries fast. Lays down real flat. Wet sands easy has great gloss and last forever. I have been using it for over 20 years and like it better than any model paint I've ever used. You can go to body shops and most of them are happy to give away left over paint . A pint or qt of automotive base coat goes a long way on models. Considering it takes fewer coats for coverage. Just a thought because I hardly ever hear of builders using it.
@TheLukaCeeChannel

This must be the first video of mine you have watched. For me. There are places for certain types of paints. That is great that that works for you. I find that to not be necessary for everything on a model. You will find a few of my models on my channel, that I painted with base coat/urethane clear coat in my spray booth at a custom paint shop use to work at. And I have racks of PPG Paints that I mixed myself when I managed an automotive paint supply store. I'm over it. It's just not worth the trouble for me. But that's me. If it's what you do to enjoy this hobby. That is great. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@TheLukaCeeChannel yea I restored classic cars bikes and jet boats for 30 plus years so it's about all I've ever used. Don't get enough time to build to learn of all the new paints for models. I do like the look of the model clear tho. Lays down nice.
