Al: Never boring. Thanks for doing the math (scale conversion to N scale.) The aspens in the back drop blend well into the aspens in the fore ground. Till Tuesday (It will be here before we know it). Rail on.

The tiny little trees out on the edge of the hill in the back against the backdrop are really neat when you change the lighting. They look awesome back there making the hill seem so far away. Y'all are an awesome team and have amazing abilities with modeling trains. The trees are great! Stay well. -Wil 👍

I like your little trees. I have to give them a try. I have built the trees like the one's that Al built drilling holes for each branch. I used saw dust and white glue do the bark texture and then painted them with cheap craft paints ( gray, black, and browns ). Thanks for the tips on making small trees. Be safe and see you on Tuesday.👍🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂

Great job on the small trees , 30 years ago i got 7 dozen very detailed plastic holiday tree cake decorations about 2.5 inches tall for dirt cheap then frocked them two tone green foam. Been on my old N scale layout to my 0 gauge . Nice when a plan comes together...

Cool!! I later tried doing a small scale by really cutting away lower branches and knocking away a lot of the green stuff. No added vegetation. Looks great in even n scale

Dale: You had mentioned the pine trees from a Christmas tree lot. Well, back in 1956, when I was in the seventh grade. Some people which I had become acquainted with because they had been leasing a fairly large open lot space, next to an old-style mom-and-pop neighborhood convenience store (In New York City, these are referred to as a Bodega). The people I knew back then had used the land for a drive-in curbside Rootbeer Stand during the Spring and Summer months and converted it to a Christmas tree lot from late in November until Dec. 24th. of each year they were in business. So, I learned how to wrangle these mostly ScotsPine trees, which were grown on nursery farms in middle and southern Michigan, selectively harvested, and then trucked to Northeastern Indiana (Fort Wayne). Yes, we had a few other conifer tree varieties as well, such as Black Hills Spruce, Balsom Fir, and even some Douglas Fir from Montana. We had battled ice storms that could flatten a tree that was laying on its side, or break out branch boughs from trees that were placed over a five-feet high pounded in-ground stakes, and tied up to the stake for an accurate viewing by prospective customers. For several years, the boss even rented a lowboy moving van semi-trailer. We used this trailer to thaw out the trees by hauling them inside and hanging them up by a large hook to the high binding rails around the inside of the trailer. For heat, the boss brought in an electrically forced air kerosene heated industrial salamander. Once the ice clinging to the tress was thawed, then those trees were replaced with some more ice ladened trees. That how it went each year for me from grade 7, through grade 12 in High School. Next month (July) I'll be turning age 78. My, how time flys when you were having fun.

That is a great story! We just went and saw Washington Heights last night! Sounds like a similar sort of story of a similar sort of place! I’ve only really been in Manhattan once. I walked from the port authority down to Madison Square, Garden where I picked up a train up Long Island. But it was a lovely walk and I got a real sense of the place. Love to get back and take it in properly. It is a world in its own.

I think you could also get away with just going in with brown paint on a paintbrush or an airbrush to cover up the glue and make it look like the bark on the trunks of those trees. What do you think? I always look forward to your videos on Sunday morning! Have a wonderful day! Lisa

Great video of course and as usual . Hope you're doing well . It's been up to 108 down here outside and 105 inside before I got my swamp cooler fixed . Got so hot the model paint was drying out before I hit the model kit . Acrylic dries even faster . Then there's the Thunderstorms power keeps getting knocked out . Well anyway ..... Small Tree's are called Shrubs , bushes ( no relationship to former POTUS 'S past ) . OK I made my funny . Power just went out again phone isn't fully charged so by for now .
