The jokes on you, the boat's hull is made of fiberglass. It doesn't rust.

Yeha, you aren't the first one to point that out. To be honest, i wasn't aware of that when i did paint that boat. It was the only kit available in my region that fits the diorama. Nevertheless, here is my humble explanation: The boat is part of a post apocalyptic diorama, in a fictional world (with liekers from resident evil, they don't even exists in reality), an alternative reality where some chemical substance causes the end of the world after WWII. Vietnam war had never happend and the pibber boat wasn't made of fiber in first place. But anyway, thats just a cheap excuse ;) Check my other videos for that diorama for more stuff to see ;) And yes, i usally prefer to do realistic stuff, but want to get a bit creative with that diorama here.

Yes they are. I didn’t aim for realism on a post apocalyptic diorama. I mean, it’s fiction after all. I mean the boat is part of a diorama that is located somewhere in Germany (how does it get there….), with a mad max styled car that has two aircraft turbines as engine… and a licker from resident evil. Well, that rusty fibberglass boat won’t be the only sin Iam going to make here ;) When I bought that kit I just searched for a boat that was available locally in 1/35. And here we are, a rusty pibber boat. Next diorama I build will be more realistic, promised. (And Next aircrafts anyway).

The rust can be doing with a bit of modulation it's abit monochrome all the one shade!

Yes, definitely. I am also not really happy with the end result, my plan wasn’t really to use the pigments all the way. But lesson learned, hopefully I will do better next time.
