The Celica GT-Four used the 3sgte engine. The Corolla WRC re-used both the GT4's engine and AWD system

It's funny to me that after all that work, they were still schooled by Mitsubishi in a group A. Sainz almost beat Mäkinen in 98 through consistency, and Auriol in 99 was also really close, but if you had to say which car was better at pure performance, you have to say the Mitsubishi Evo IV-V-VI had the edge over the Corolla.
