CIC. I think that this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship between you and your gas stove. 😆. That fried rice looked really good. Wish that we had a gas stove. See you tomorrow night…..Dan

I have made stir fry in my Lodge cast iron wok a lot. After upgrading to the larger 14 inch, I wish I had bought it earlier. I hesitated because so many people said it was excessively heavy and too large for their stovetop. First month after I bought it, I didn't want to eat anything but big helpings of stir fried rice. So many ingredient options/combinations with a roomy wok.

I was going to get a wok when we went to Tennessee. But I spent most of my budget on the Recon Run so Rhonda would not let me make a second trip. Looks like a great stir fry and I agree its better on a gas stove in this application

In addition to the soy sauce I add a bit of oyster sauce. It adds a flavor that makes it taste more like a restaurant fried rice.

My gas stove does not have enough power to wok well. Your fried rice looked good. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us. Have you ever tried making Kedgeree? It works good in a wok. Stay safe and stay cool

I'd never even heard of kedgeree until you mentioned it here. And now I have to try it, it looks great. :) www.thespruceeats.com/super-easy-kedgeree-recipe-435296

Pardon me , but isn't the ratio of water to rice supposed to be listed in your recipe as 1 cup rice to 1 1/2 cups water ?? You said in the video to use 2 cups rice to 1 1/2 cups water which sounds like not enough water for that amount of rice . Is that really the correct ratio of water to rice in your recipe ?
@castironchaos2 жыл бұрын
As he said, I used 1 1/2 cups of water for each cup of rice, So, two cups of rice would mean three cups of water.
@sheld0nАй бұрын
I think you meant to say use one and a half cup of water for every cup of rice. Not for every two cups. Otherwise your rice would not soften!
