Yes. I study with master teachers from Egypt and they always stress the fact that there is no such thing as modern baladi. Baladi has very specific format and very specific moves that cannot be changed. In respect to the art, music and culture it is best to follow the Egyptian format for this dance! It is the most difficult to master.. feeling, energy and moves
