My great-great grandparents grew dates on our farm in Phoenix, AZ. My mother remembers her father climbing the palms to pollinate and harvest the dates.

this video is really informative and well-made! i love how you showcased the modern techniques in date palm farming. however, i personally feel that the push for organic farming might overlook some of the benefits of traditional methods. what do you think?

what a well-made video! i love how you showcased the entire process of date palm farming. it’s super informative. but i can't help but wonder if the modern techniques might overshadow the traditional practices that have been passed down for generations. isn’t there something special about those age-old methods that connects us to the land?

great video with some really informative insights! i'm curious though, do you think the push for organic farming might lead to a decrease in the overall yield of dates compared to conventional methods? it seems like a trade-off for quality vs. quantity that could spark some debate.

great job on this video! the visuals of the palm trees are really stunning. however, i can't help but wonder if organic farming can keep up with the demand. i mean, with the increasing global population, isn't there a risk that organic methods might not be sustainable for large-scale production?

From the start to grow dates how many years to start harvesting fruits ?
@techfarmhd20203 ай бұрын
Date palms can take 4 to 8 years after planting before they will bear fruit, and start producing viable yields for commercial harvest between 7 and 10 years.

Did you say the fruit is perishable? I thought when dry they're long lasting?
@handassageophysics80508 ай бұрын
I think what he meant is that dates should be harvested at the most opportun time throughout their maturation process or they lose quality. Specially true for the Majhoul (Medjool) variety shown here. Otherwise dates are very lasting when dried correctly.

I planted a Medjool date palm five years ago, and it flowered about a year later. I attempted to pollinate the female flowers, but I might have been late. Despite trying various pollination methods every year since then, I've had no success. The tree produces date-like fruit, but they lack edible flesh and are bitter. I've heard this might be a genetic disease. Is that true, and should I replace the trees? Do you have any experience with such Situation? Thanks for Support.
