Dave dicensos performance on this dvd was by far the best imo. That solo might be one of the greatest drum solos of all time

I have seen Ronald Bruner Jr. some years ago live in a Jazz Club in Vienna with Lee Ritenour's band and it has been a very impressive experience. This drummer owns an unbelieveable power on his strokes and a precision that is out of this world.

I saw him at the baked potato playing for Scott Kinsey .. there was this backing track loop that you couldn’t hear until they all stopped playing that blew me away they made 4/4 sound like something completely different ..

It may appear to be sloppy but it is the dopest drumming & rhythm keeping I have seen ever in my life! He is sick with it and has his own style and that makes him ill!!

@@carbonc6065 nahh they mistitled it, proto cosmos was the 3rd song... the second song was probably “a minute to heal” or whatever they put at the beginning of proto cosmos.

You know, I said the same exact thing about Virgil Donati. Speed, rudiments and truckloads of theatrics. No musicality whatsoever. Very annoying. And no my racist, ignorant, tone deaf friend, all Black drummers do not play exactly the same.
