The best thing about Modern family is the monologue at the end of episodes. The stories each member encounter may be different and seem unrelated at first but perfectly fit into the theme of that episode ( love, sharing, understanding ... )

When Luke asked if they think the thing could launch a human and Phil chuckled, paused and said, "let's do the pumpkin first" just shows how supportive he always is of Luke, never shutting down his ideas, no matter how seemingly inane it might seem. It's one of my fav moments of the entire show.

Something I learn between myself (realist) and my best friend (dreamer). My dreamer friend push me to try new things or to go for what I want and establish confidence in. While, me being the realist, reminds him of the possible consequences of actions, help him make non emotional decision and also be there when he did indeed fail and help him get back up

There are dreamers and there are realists in this world. You’d think the dreamers would find the dreamers and the realists would find the realists but more often than not the opposite is true. You see the dreamers need the realist to keep them from soaring too close to the sun and the realists, well without the dreamers, they might not ever get off the ground.

yeah my mom is a dream squasher too. whenever i want to do anything all she can do is come up with every possible scenario where it can go wrong. which is especially frustrating when i need her involved in it, shell just say "oh but what if this happens, what about that, or that." and if theres even one thing on her mind that just maybe might not work, trust me, she aint going nowhere
