I totally agree with your views, but I also think the Dunphy kids are neglected because of the circumstances and if Claire and Phil had gotten divorced, they wouldn't have been as neglected specifically by Claire (she would've had much more time for them) whereas the other children on the show were neglected because the parents were neglectful or so full of themselves. What I mean is that I think we can separate between the neglected children because of the parents (Lily, Manny, Joe) and the ones neglected because of the circumstances of the family (Hailey, Luke and Alex) but with parents (Claire) that at least tried to be there for her kids

Mmm... sorry, but I still say Manny is not neglected. You do have a point that he didn't grow up well and this has a lot to do with Gloria ignoring the warning signs, but I don't really think this is NEGLECT. I know neglect is a very broad term, but still.

It is emotional neglect, even though Gloria is with him constantly, she is constantly keeping him from developing proper skills by coddling him. It's a different kind of neglect than one would usually think of, but it's neglect nonetheless

Nah, Alex is the most neglected of them all, by far. She's basically Matilda. I think Claire and Phil are horrible parents. They don't accept Hailey as she is, treat Luke like a lost case and completely ignore Alex and then ask for her help when they don't know what to do (and when they think they know what they're doing, they don't).
