For people like me who are self preparing and this is the first attempt, it feels assuring to see that other people who have cleared the prelims/ mains read the same way we do 😂. Otherwise there is always a confusion that maybe they are doing something different. I have read the spectrum just the way you mentioned. Historical underpinnings from laxmikant and other things from spectrum.

Read it 7 times still have an accuracy of just 50 %. Then reffered to bipin chandra (1 read)and now i am able to score around 90%. Its in sequence and is in a story format. That makes it easy to understand.

Even if you have cleared UPSC dear sir, you cannot predict UPSC. UPSC has proved itself many times that it is "unpredictable", be it prelims or mains. This year also, the difficulty level of CSAT and even prelims was unexpected and all those fellow who used to predict UPSC favourite topics and blah blah blah on KZbin have shut their mouth. You could have told about strategy and all that, but you can't set a priority order. Let just say, if UPSC decides to ask more questions on European Establishments portion, like those on Anglo-Maratha war, etc.., you cannot say ki kyun puchha inn topics se, ye to kam weightage wale the,! Unhone syllabus se pucha hai, and that is enough to justify them. Dear readers, toppers don't focus on priority orders, high weightage portion etc, just go through PYQ rigorously but make sure you complete each portion of syllabus with focus. This UPSC is not about tips and tricks, its not about decoding UPSC's pattern. No one can! Study hard but be agile at the same time.

You can make note on ipad its really help if you use goodnote like application and you also can modify your note anytime ..but there is certain drawbacks like you will feel bore to revise from ipad and one more thing you’ll get addict by apple pencil and screen writing but in the end of the day you have to wirte on pen and paper ..still if you wanna get a ipad go for ipad air 5
