Instead of using string to hold your ring, try four dowels arranged the same way with rubber bands at each end. Put the dowels on the rack and the ring on the dowels. Of course the dowels have to be long enough to extend past the ring. Make a larks head knot on the ring with a rubber bad and slip it on the dowels end. Love your videos! I did macrame back in the 70s and am happy people like you are keeping it alive.

How do you get the sides to stay straight?? Mine is cupping 🤔
@annabaginova013 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, mine is doing that too, maybe it's not as visible but it's certainly happening. I think the trick is to keep the right balance between adding new cords and working through the gaps. It starts cupping more when you are not adding new cords and instead you are closing those bigger gaps with the existing cords, then everything gets more pulled in hence the cupping. I hope that helps...

how many metres and rows will be required for 12 metre ring ?
@annabaginova012 жыл бұрын
You mean your ring is 12 metres in diameter? That's huge! Well this design was more of a add-as-you-go type, I can't judge very well the lengths and number of rows in advance. I just knew that I wanted to have three half-circles on it so I split the ring into thirds and then just kept building the first half-circle until I got to that third. But you can probably do a rough estimate based on how big my ring was and how many rows I did...
@Its_bhaveee2 жыл бұрын
@@annabaginova01 ohh sorry not metre 12 inches😅
@Nitarachronicles2 жыл бұрын
The design is absolutely beautiful but It is very difficult to understand the measurements , in row 1 do u mean we are using 2 cords 3 metre each and in the second row just 1 cord that is 3 metre & add 1 cord 3 metre…. Then 3rd row there is 1 cord for 3 metre & 2 cords r added for 9 metre each please if you could explain it would be great..
@annabaginova012 жыл бұрын
Right, in this one you should take the measurements as only an estimate because yours will probably be different depending on where you will see the gaps to add new cords. The first cord in each row should be the same but then all the others that I am adding might be different for you. So I would suggest go with what you see as you are going through all the rows, when you see a gap add a new cord even though my instructions may not have an additional cord in that row. For the description I added it is as you said that in the first row I was using two cords at 3m each. In the third row the initial cord was 3m and then I added one more cord at 2,9m. Other than the first row the cords I am adding are always slightly shorter than the initial cord for that row. I hope this helps.

I know it's a bit more complicated for this pattern. You are starting with the longest cords in the first row - each cord should be 3,2m and then as you move on you cut cords that are shorter and shorter. So in the second row you only need 3,1m. The first cord in each row is always the one I am starting with that't going on the ring with the lark's headknot. If there are any other cords in that row those are the "filler" cords that I am using if I see any gaps in the pattern. Did that help at least a little bit?
