If you would like to add another color plaster to the wall, how would you take the wax off?
@RonaldLayman Жыл бұрын
Funny you asked, I just finished a project where I removed the wax and that video will be available soon, but just use a rag and mineral spirits and wipe it down a few times, sand and prime

Can you get a high gloss with wax?
@recca75 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for video, I just have a question. I let my wall dry for a little over 2 days now figured I could work on it later. My question is am I going to see a difference after i burnish now that the paint has fully dried? It seems I should've waited maybe 4-6 hrs before burnishing as oppose to letting it fully dry..? I'm using modern Masters Venetian plaster as well. This is my first attempt at doing anything like this so any help would be much appreciated

Keith W. It will not burnish as easily or a glossy and be careful not to leave carbon marks from the trowel from pressing to hard.

@@RonaldLayman so it'll still give it a bit of shine just not as much unless I put on wax as well?
@recca75 жыл бұрын
@@RonaldLayman also I see some people sand it down with 400 grit, then too 600grit, then burnish..is that recommended?

Can you use a powered buffer like you use on a car to get a high gloss finish? If so what pad would you use on the buffer?
@matthewwhitehurst21316 жыл бұрын
Old question, but to answer I sometimes use a buffer after I hand buff it. Sometimes you may not get quite as fine of a finish using machine tools, it could leave swirls. So I like to do a light hand buff first then car buffer to finalize

Does modern masters stile exist, because in some parts its discontinued?
@RonaldLayman6 жыл бұрын
Yes, and going strong, most Benjamin Moore paint stores can special order what you want or follow the links for products, they are direct to modern masters unless its another product, I do mix and match products from time to time to get the desired finishes.

Oh ok cool, its probably just on sherwin williams where its discontinued, that is were i just to buy it. Thanks for the tips.

I just received my modern masters VP Ultra Deep tint base in 2 quart size cans. You didn’t list your “Universal tint” but I rmbr your other vids mentioning “Mixol”. I’d like a dark blue result. Do you recommend I order 20ml blue #09 Mixol ? How many drops in each quart for dark blue highlights? Also I have MM topcoat, now I’m wondering if better to do wax. What’s the difference in look, durability? Thank you SO SO much for these vids, your skills and teaching.

Jennifer Hemingway yes Follow this link and you can order via amazon thefauxschool.com/mixol-pigments-200-ml-medium-size-bottles/

Ronald Layman thank you 👍🏻😁 Ordered! For dark blue how many drops do you think? Should I just drop and mix until I think it’s right ? I’ve got two quarts of plaster.
