Interesting and informative to one like me who likes to have a tin of pilchards in tomato sauce on the shelf. Frozen, they make good but tender bait for bigger fish like kahawai or snapper from a jetty. Thank you Mr Commercial Fisherman here and in the UK for doing the hard work for which the reward is often minimal.

The best marketing ploy ever was to rename them Cornish Sardines, the chap that thought that one up is a genius
