About the art installation: Nova Roma (New Rome) and Byzantium were older names of Istanbul, as well as Constantinople. I'm not 100% sure but I think I read also Kostantinyye (the name used by the Ottomans in the 1300's.

very interesting about the bread being left for the owner and no one takes it.. reminds me back of abu dhabi, uae where in the 90s, the shop owners would just put a chair in front of their shops during friday prayer and no one would go in ( indians, or sri lankans etc non muslims ) and all would know to wait until the shop keeper comes back.. this would be usually in areas where the mosque is right in the backyard.. and even at nights, the fruit and vegetable shops would leave their boxes of food outside the shop so it stays cold and no one would steal anything

The modern part of Istanbul in this area is very pretty, but I don't think I would want to shop in the stores because they are mostly the same store brands as in the US and other countries. I would want to shop in stores carrying Turkish goods that I can't find at home.

Davud Jan, you have a Persian name, you have visited Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan (all Persian speaking) and as you know Azerbaijan, Turkey and Uzbekistan all have very strong Persian Farsça language influence.. but you give Persian and Persians very little mention or any credit.. LOL anyway Arasta is Persian from the a Persian word Arasteh آراسته, call Noor your Afghan guide or your Iranian contacts.. the meaning of Arasta Bazar in Persian means Adorned, or Ornate or “Decorated” Bazar.. it also can mean tasteful also in Persian. Don’t forget Ottoman Turkish is often 60 percent Persian vocabulary… I know you are young but these cultures from Uzbekistan to Turkey are all mixed with Persian language and culture extensively including your own Azerbaijani language Janim (Janam). We have more Azerbaijani people in Iran than the entire population of Azerbaijan 🙏 love your series on Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan. Btw do genealogy, you will find out you have a lot of Persian genetics 🧬 Love 💕 you 😊
