Brilliant information! As a beginner I could not get this wealth of information in a single video. To the point without unnecessary noise.

Man, what you might have thought was a throw away comment just made a lightbulb go off in my head. I couldn't get a comfortable thumb brace hold because I was trying to pinch with my index finger and not bracing against my knuckle. Immediately went outside and changed the way I felt about holding a sling shot. Another great vid man, keep them coming!!

Just found your channel, and I’ve learned more about slingshots in this one video than any other I’ve watched. I thank you for that. Keep up the great videos!!!

Very good job Chris! I 100% agree that pinch grips are much more comfortable with thicker material. Even though I don't have a clip attachment yet I also believe clips are more consistent and stable attachment. I'm honored you used my shooter for an example. Great explanation video!

This was a great video, I watched several of your hunting videos then on to this one. I didn't know sling shots were anything other than a child's toy. I've hunted my whole life but haven't even considered seriously hunting with one until I found your videos. I might have to get me one I'm very interested now in seeing for myself what they can do.

Nice, Chris! Thank you! 👍 I agree, the grip is the key, at least for me. I have all kinds of catapult frames that I have purchased, but I actually prefer the one I made myself. It's not a museum piece mind you, far from it, but it really feels comfortable to grip and shoot. Thanks to all your helpful videos, my shooting skills have greatly improved.

Great great video Chris!! I have learned to shoot with my frame in my left hand , my dominant eye is my left. I aim with both eyes open. I have learned to shoot pretty accurate that way. Thank you for your tips allthough . Love your channel ! Cheers , Sis

Been watching your vids since getting back into catty's after 20+ years Got 2 Chinese cheapies to start and was happy with them until a Titan came up and it has changed my accuracy totally think I've found my sweet spot at 85mm frame keep up the good work. Saving for a Titan Hunter 👍

I'm gunna try some different grips. Totally get you, with how the release will be sharper with a band attached by clips rather than being tied on. Good one sir! 👍

Nice Cris! I like your very clear and explanatory videos! I can't imagine how many bullets are behind those targets 😂 I can't really think of shooting without a bullet catch behind, steel balls cost a kidney 😂

Hi Chris, I've been following you now for quite a while. You make slingshots. I'm wondering if you can do a video on how to pick a slingshot that fits your hand. I'm not asking for another video on types of grips, but more explaining how you want a slingshot to fit your hand. The points of contact for leverage and against the pull. A flat slingshot vs. one that the handle is offset relative to the forks of the frame. I'm a smaller guy with smaller hands, and I often feel like the palm swell isn't in the right position in my hand affecting my leverage. I have searched all of KZbin and have not found one single video that covers this aspect of slingshot shooting. Thanks and I think you're the man to answer this.

I'm really new to slingshots, and recently bought a SimpleShot Hammer XT that I have been enjoying, and enjoying your videos ! But I would love making one, similar to the "Hacksaw" one that you showed at 14:15 Do you have a video showing this one, and how it was made ? I realize it has to be fairly simple... hard part would be getting the right size knurled screw (and "nut" that it screws into), and of course the right size natural tree fork branch.

Great info I now understand why I get hand slap on my Evo ergo and not the v2 I thought it was a weight thing but that makes sense what u said 😊
@Beesa10 Жыл бұрын
For the natural one towards the end of the video you made the fork cuts level with each other, is that better? Maybe so the OTT flat band has minimal twist? Or does it not really matter? Also, if I use boiled linseed oil on the wood is that ok or could it attack/degrade the latex
@shnider1562 жыл бұрын
Excellent video Chris thanks. I use a brace grip on one of your beautiful cattys but sometimes suffer from band slap on the pointing finger nail. Think it's because of the setup being too powerful for ammo and the active band length being just 14.5cm using 0.60 sniper sling latex. I mix it up between 7mm and 8mm steel. Usually with 7mm the setup is far too heavy so get some finger nail slap ouch.

I love my Gamekeeper Pocket Rockets, any chance you could find the easiest way to convert wrap and tuck catties to clips? And the easiest clips to use? I don't wrap and nowadays finding electrical tape simpler. T love the naturals you make, great stuff.

I've been interested in clips for a while now but not only are they expensive, but I live in 1 of the 3 states in the US where slingshots are illegal to buy. So I made my own aluminum core slingshot and I use pieces of flattened pvc pipe as clips and even that works great

No. I'm almost certain it is sold exclusively from proshot. Your on the right track though for a frame suited to hand problems. Pinch grip or hammer grip is my personal recommendation

i've been trying to make myself a frame that fits and feels nice and is consistent to hold. i want to try the finger and thumb grip, but it feels like i need a significantly wider frame. how wide is that titan hunter frame that you're showcasing early in the video?

Excellent stuff. Do you have a fault with your camera though? Either that or for the first minute or two of the video, you’ve got an orb hovering around the Brasso tin behind your head. It isn’t a laser because it’s still there when you’re in shot? Mean this in no way to detract from video. I’m in the process of making my first Hazel ‘pult. This was very informative and helpful. I’d just quite like to know about the orb as well. Cheers Chris. Best wishes, Jim.
