Thanks for another great video. It's been interesting watching your gear and methods evolve over time. I have learned and incorporated a lot from your teachings, and it has made a noticeable difference in my comfort and confidence as a back country camper. I hope to attend some of your courses in the future. Thank you for all of the hard work that you do. Best wishes from Ontario, Canada.

I'm never gonna trap or hunt anything in my life, but I still watch all of the videos along with any thing else on this channel. I think its because that you have a way of explaining things that causes me to see things in more then one way, combined with an ability to break things down to the core essences, while keeping it together as a whole. ( If that makes any sense ) I thank you for the time and effort you put into making these videos.

Not every animals has the same eyesight capability. Some see fixed objects poorly which are not in motion regardless of the color. Others can easily see shiny objects. Still others see a monochrome or two color visual scene so that the true colors are irrelevant. It is even possible some animals may see into colors humans cannot see. Many insects and some birds are known to see four primary colors, not three. Basically there is no one size fits all when it comes to blending in traps or snares but in general using any dull colors that cover the reflective shine on new traps or snares is the right way to go. It's pointless to debate what colors, patterns, or camo designs are the best. There is no "best" and to the extent that flat black knocks off reflective shine it too isn''t half bad.

Don't know why so many people are attacking you but you're right, shadows are black. Shadows do occur in nature. Like the shadow inside the shelter on the right side of the video. There's also plenty of black animals that blend in quite well. & many animals with black markings for camouflage, too many to name actually. Flat black would definitely be better than glossy black, though. But Im not just agreeing to be argumentative, I still think Dave's the man, and highly appreciate all his vids!!

would it be a good idea to use white for winter sets? or just do the brown and green for a bigger variety of places to put them

I think you need to focus more on zombie-proofing the campsite. Maybe suspend tin cans from strings or tripwires etc. Thanks, great channel.

Actually night is more dark blue. Don't believe me, dress someone all in black head to toe on a dark night and then dark navy blue, the black stands out in the dark, the navy blue blends in much better.

Black in this sense of the word is not typically considered a color, but rather the absence of color. Because of this it is debatable whether or not black is even a color.
