Modern Warfare 3's ZOMBIES is Insane

MW3 Zombies of DMZombies as some people have touted it is the new entry from treyarch for the first time in a modern warfare title, an extraction shooter based on the new Warzone map. Today I show off all the details we have for MW3 Zombies and how it looks AMAZING! #MW3

Neither, this isn't zombies. I would be optimistic but it's the same story as Vanguard where they're pivoting away from round based but it did badly

I spent way too many hours playing Outbreak. I hope there are some similarities. An updated slightly more intense version of that would be pretty cool.

I do hope nighttime is either going to be static in the map or maybe creep in as the mission unfolds. Very important part of zombies was the atmosphere matching the dread & despair tone the modes had and the map should have that for DMZombies.

Hopefully, they build on Cold War Zombies with the extraction. And also Outbreak which was pretty incredible, something I feel not many talk about. And I think they can really build on that to bring the Black Ops/Cold War and Modern Warfare Zombie universes together. And now that there are gonna have multiple player teams in a game mode, I believe an Outbreak mode mixed with some DMZ features could be amazing for Zombies fans. I also really hope that we eventually see mod support come back (maybe through Steam Workshop), even if it's at the end of the game's lifecycle or after all the DLC have been released. Mod support would also give some good faith back.

Great to see some positivity around zombies! I think the fans of traditional zombies won't like this, but there really is something there around that DMZ-style of mode that zombies really serves well. Excited to see what they have to show us!

2:12 kinda like in blackout, there were areas were you could fight zombies and use the wonder weapons.

I see a lot of people seeing the word "Extraction" and just equating it with DMZ. But Cold War Zombies round based and Outbreak introduced the Extraction mechanic just as a way to leave the game, fighting off one last horde of zombies and bosses within the time limit to secure your extraction. Combined with rumours DMZ gets the can, people seem to be jumping the gun before any concrete information has been released on the matter. I really don't see free to play DMZ being replaced by a paid mode in MW3. But we will have to wait for Cod Next to really understand the future of DMZ/Warzone etc. I for one am optimistic about the zombies, but last time Sledgehammer and Treyarch teamed to create a zombies mode, they produced the worst cod zombies ever to see the light of day.

The difference is the time limit begins as soon as you enter the match; you only have one hour before you must extract.

@@cryptbot Its an exctraction shooter and I believe most extraction shooters out right now have some sort of time limit that pushes players to leave the environment to bring their gear into the next match. DMZ has a 25 minute time limit so it isn't surprising that a zombies version of it has one aswell. It isn't like round based with a 1 hour timer, its entirely different since you can bring all of your loot from your last game. You have 1 hour in game to get all your missions done or loot what you can, exfil with all your loot, then enter again at a higher equipped level.

@@cryptbot There was an Outbreak mode that ramped up the difficulty every 5 minutes or so. I'm imagining something similar to happen here so it begins tame and gets exceedingly more challenging the longer you stay in the game. I could be wrong but just a thought

I can almost guarantee that there won’t be enough zombies on the map. There needs to be A LOT. But having said that, I really hope this works and I’m definitely going to play it. DMZ I found very dull, but if they get the zombie aspect correct, then this could be a success imo

That's most likely going to be the case yeah. However on the flip side I hope they learned from Outbreak that players want more active zombies on the map at once and there's more than just a few groups. In Outbreak there were just groups of 5-10 zombies you'd find and kill them and they wouldn't respawn, or you'd get to an objective and a bunch would start spawning endlessly at you. I have hope in the mode that it'll be interesting and strike a good balance, but we won't know until launch.

​@@Ermac43and the difficulty was way to steep in outbreak it didn't flow. Like two objectives and you getting bombarded by tanks and over powered boss's. It need to be fast paced but balanced so it starts of slowish but still have plenty of zombies to kill/ respawning. But I garentee each zone is also going to be way to steep just like outbreak.

i noticed you said on stream - " i hope there are A LOT of zombies on the map, like hordes " you're going to be disappointed ! this will never be a World War Z or Days Gone ... both excellent games , the most zombies we've seen on a map at once is 30, in Cold War , and even then , they still behave like Treyarc zombies , not like the rolling hordes you imagine ! i'l play it , if its free to play , i only play zombies on the treyarc games so theres no way im buying mw3 just for this !!

Had my best memoriez in bo2 zombies with my little brothers. One time they kept dying and I had to survive on my own past round 10 cause they died right at the beginning 😅

They could do both. Like have a giant city map split up into 4 different zombies maps with 4 separate teams. Once everything is open you can move freely between maps but keeping that feel of separate maps. 🤷‍♂️

I've never been that fussed about zombies, I'm still not that fussed and I'm salty about dmz potentially leaving. However zombies is a huge part of cod and has a lot of fans, so this seems great for them that love it. Not every game is for every person.

What if -- hear me out -- if you die via a zombie, you can elect to stay on the map AS a zombie and provide a bit more challenge for the next player you run into? Maybe there's a small percentage chance you spawn as a special zombie that's a bit more powerful. Just something to spice it up. Otherwise I just hope the meta game is more interesting than DMZ. I like that in Tarkov I can have a pretty tame raid but get out with stuff that might be useful later that I can store. I like that I have a Hideout to upgrade, etc. I'm not saying steal everything from Tarkov, but it's the best extraction shooter (ignoring all its technical shortcomings) because of that meta progression. I'm certainly interested in zombies in a way I have never been though. Interested to see more.

I have mixed feelings about this both as a fan of DMZ (mainly watching) and zombies. My first issue is that there will NOT be enough zombies on the map. Second is how will the buy stations be (will they be both outside or only outside/inside) that will change the playing style and how most people will interact with them. Third is will killstreaks (uav/advanced uav) be as effective against the zombies (I mean they are not hot blooded and most of those killstreaks don´t show players with cold blooded/ghost and stealth wests are the same)

Don’t be tricked by a nice looking trailer. Just look at the vanguard zombies trailer and what we got lol. Outbreak type of zombies is not he way

i recommend you try Left4Dead or Last of Us - Cod Zombies has been the way you described from the very start and has no indication of stopping.

I dont mean to be negative but.. zombies aint nothing new. Other games have done zombies better.. to death in fact. I dont believe COD is gonna bring anything fresh or anything other than a disaapointingly buggy mess, as usual.
