I went to music school and got out of there in no time when I realised that they are going to teach me through secular rock songs. And iam struggling to learn accoustic where I find a lot of _/_ ex G/B etc. Now this is cool. Thumbs up. Please do more videos as we dig into it,.... there's lot to chew in it though......

This was so helpful for me. Thank you so much. I am a singer-songwriter and I can play barre chords, okay and the regular chords and I can pick okay but I needed new voicings and this was clear and easy. Thank you for the 3 window angles, because my brain works different than a lot of instructors but your tutorial was GREAT. You had it down for all brain types I think!

@ 11:35 I think an easier method is to learn the E5 chord 022400 (index finger bars the strings 5 and 4 then pinky plays G string) and then it's way easier to transition into E/G# 4X2400 (ring finger on 6th string 4th fret, index on 4th string 2nd fret pinky on 3th string 4th fret.) Try it!

There are several components to worship guitar secrets. One resource I found which successfully combines these is the Worship Fixer Formula (google it if you're interested) it's the best plan that I have ever seen. Check out all the great info .

This is the reason why christian music has become a singular type of music over time. This maybe done with good intention, but when u tried to make such distinction on what the role of an acoustic guitar should be, Christian will take it face value and refuse to accept other possibilities..... I garantee u that when he having a jamming session especially when he is playing secular music. He will have no issue playing in a more advance manner. All I can say is this, God has a wider taste than you(christians) think. This is at best meant for beginners. But if you want to "connect", u need more musical knowledge. No offense, this is a well done video, but this is not worship music education.

I know your comment is over two years old, but I thought I'd add that this "it is not an up-front instrument" and "its very much in the back" and "its more of a shaker" stuff has bothered me for decades. When I am working up an arrangement, I don't ask myself how another worship leader would play the song. I ask myself how Mark Knopfler or the late Tony Rice would play it and proceed with however I imagine that might be. I got into music ministry in 1988 and used super-shallow Ovations because I could play electric style lead lines on them with ease. Here in 2020, nothing much has changed. I play Harley Benton HBO 600 Ovation-Like Objects instead of the real things, or a piezo pickup only Telecaster type thing, so I'm already not going to sound like the typical Taylor-strumming worship leader. Which suits me right down to the ground and it seems to find favor with the congregation I'm serving, too. They're engaged and singing along, which is what I'm up there to facilitate, rather than putting people to sleep with the boring "worship guitar" they might be used to hearing elsewhere.
