I use similar thin foam for some of my terrain but the one I use has paper on both sides. What I do instead of using stamps is I draw the tile pattern with a pencil, pushing to create texture, then I just do base coat -> drybrush -> highlight. I like this method because it's much simpler to paint, since the details pop by themselves without you having to paint them, and the final look is more appealing since there is some 3d texture in the tile.Anyways great video as usual, really enjoying your stuff

+pnak0tic Foam board can be great but do you find it curling up for tiles?

+theDMsCraft I did do a large piece (something like 15 x 15 inches) and it did curl up a bit, but for my buildings or smaller dungeon tiles, I add 1-inch high walls on the side and it does seem to hold the thing in place and prevent curling when painting. For larger terrain I use blue insulation foam which is too sturdy to curl and has a nice bulky feeling to it.

DM scotty, as usual your are amazing. I've been watching your Video from nearly your beginning and I can say that there is some good crafters out there but you're the reference. I'm just Starting to craft things of my own and I love your new tilescape method. I've created some amazing trees that the minis can stand in them and fight. I'm not a computer nerd (and by saying nerd i mean no offense) but if you would like, I would be happy to send you pictures (yust tel were to send them. Unfortunatly I do not have any social media account like facebook. Just so you know). You really inspired me a lot and I'm now thinking about making my own youtube channel (It seem s like a lot of work and I have a trime consuming jobt and the guys out there who are making trhose videos are very good ;-). As always go forth and Craft and keep up your awesome work cause you're bringing a bit of magic into my days and surely into other people as well.

Is it possible to make Tilescape terrain using cardboard? I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to cork and this foam. I'd like to upcycle a lot of the boxes from work (single layer cardboard, not double layer, so abou 3-5mm thick)

It will work but due to warpage, I would hot glue two pieces of cardboard back to back with the corrugation lines running in opposite directions.

Hey DM Scotty, quick question. Im building Japanese terrain for a campaign and i cant seem to get the sloped tile roofs right, as far as shape and design. How would you do it? Any ideas?

I did not...the foam will not absorb the glue....the 5mm thick is fairly sturdy.
