Very good to the new modernized test that became effective late 2024. You did leave out the 8 way school bus stop lights , the side stop sign and front stop bar. But everything else is pretty good.

Hi Jonathan 👋 I wanted your opinion on something. So I’m a truck driver in Jersey who’s looking to transition to school bus driving. I already have a passenger endorsement & was wondering if I get sponsored by a school district, do I have to just take the written test or do I also have to take the road test all over again?

Where do you get a new study guide for modernized to tell you EXACTLY what you need to do, check, or say. I have a CDL A for 6 years but need to do this for a school bus with my test coming up and this is very confusing to what I did in 2018. Thanks for feedback.

2 sections totally missed I think. First is the whole SCHOOL BUS ONLY section that covers the Student Lights, Stop Arm & First Aid & Bodily Fluid Kits and the Second is the SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, the first item Lenses & Reflectors. Just feedback. This is a great video & I thank you for posting it for us.

Do you not have to say you are doing a "Safe Start" before you start the bus? Do you not test the Parking Brake first to make sure there are no air leaks, and then do your service brake test?

In Texas you're suppose to mention the fire extinguisher has the pin and also mention the front tire treads cannot be retreaded. Overall great video!

There aren’t anymore State specific requirements, this modernized version has replaced all of the previous in an effort to standardize the licensing process, or so I was told. But if anyone is in TX and failed the test for not mentioning the fire extinguisher please report back.

@@SeanSmith-f1cI’m about to take my test in a few days and I was told that you do have to mention the fire extinguisher. That counts as emergency equipment.

No, new laws generalize alot. You have to say of proper color

Alls you have to say is my steering linkage from the gear box to the tire. You don't have to name every part of it

Shouldn't your seatbelt be on every time you are in the driver seat? Do you not restart the bus to build the air back up?

Why did you put your foot on the break at the beginning of the airbrake test for the one minute? Are you chocked?

It's your break check to make sure you do not lose more than 3psi within that 1 min, if you did it would indicate a problem

For everyone who is talking about the freaking seatbelt. If you read the new DOL Modernization the seatbelt DOES NOT have to be buckled until the beginning of the backing exercise.
