Hi Cy. I am a recovering drama queen! Thank you so much for teaching us the new leadership philosophy. I am intentionally ditching the daily drama in my life.

Cy, I love your philosophy & material and it's been incredibly helpful. When I have used the Emotional Cost calculator from your material I am taking it as an owner/leader so some of the questions are trickier in terms of self-assessment - do you have a calculator created for owners/leaders? thank you!

Now I know why your work really resonates with me - you have a therapist background too! Thanks for being so generous with your work and research.

Absolutely! I was blown away when I first joined the workforce as a leader. How to impact and motivate people seemed so obvious to me, but it wasn't being taught. Thanks for watching!

7:00 Buy in- I'd like to chime in here with a question. I'm having difficulty communicating with management, being deemed oppositional, resistant, full of ego; I watched all of these videos and I can see why they see me that way. However this couldn't be further from the truth! I love change, I love continual improvement. I'm willing to try anything and make it work. I ask a lot of questions, my brain works in a different way. They aren't able to see why I am asking the questions that I do. For example, due to the covid situation we would no longer have clergies in house. I asked my manager if the clergies would still be coming in to do group on the day and time they normally do. My manager let me know that I shouldn't be worried about what they do on day shift, my manager let me know that it wasn't my concern and that this was a change that they were making. If she knew that I was asking because I often refer patients to having their spiritual needs met during this time, she might have answered me in a different way. It seems like this is my life. I have changed and changed and tried many communication methods. It seems the obvious answer would be I need to learn to ask better questions. I have tried asking the questions I have in different ways, I've tried asking mentor coworkers for feedback about how to more effectively communicate, or to give feedback on what specifically I'm doing incorrectly. You might say I'm asking the wrong person but I've asked my manager and the perception is that I'm being resistant. I've even went so far as to have a co-worker read my emails prior to sending them, and even reworded entire emails and someone else's words. Still, my manager will reply and ask if I'm being facetious. I want to communicate with my manager. I want to be on the team. I don't know how else to communicate that I'm all in.

I laughed out loud with the flip-phone guy curled up in the fetal position! So true. Love everything in this clip Cy.

Great clip. I have to say, however, that I find that it's often that person with the most updated phone focused on having all the latest technology, rather than the mission, is the person who creates the most drama and is the least prepared to get the job done--lol.

You start by saying that you wont bore us with the details of your research. Can you please bore us with the details of your research? I have searched several online databases and libraries, I can't find any of your research, or you listed as an author on any studies aside from one highlight of your own book. You repeatedly make the claim that health care workers waste time complaining, two hours a day. What is this based on? The only thing I found close to this was data showing health care workers complain about having to do over two hours of paperwork per shift.
