Hi Mike, I have a question regarding ingredient and hope you can answer me. If styling product (pre/post) have dimethicone or amodimethicone are they bad? The internet source mentioned its bad because can build up easily and only can wash of by sulfate based shampoo that will dry out your scalp. Second is about petrolatum or petroleum based styling product, if it use in pre and post styling will they block hair follicle? Thanks if you can answer and appreciate your respond

One is a silicone and one is petro. The silicone is not a concern to me personally, I have used tons of products that contain it and have never had an issue. With petro, I have talked with Steve Lockhart to a large degree on this topic, he has researched it very well and it’s a myth that petro is bad for your hair. If someone has a condition where their scalp clogs easily and they use petro yes it could clog, but that also means anything else could clog it as well. This is an ingredient that’s been used in products for decades and the reason for that is 1- it’s fantastic in its abilities to style, and 2- it’s a moisture locking ingredient that actually costs the hair and maintains the moisture inside of it. I wouldn’t be afraid of any ingredient man life is much simpler that way.

Mayank Gautam just look at them. They don’t magically go bad after a year. If they look dried out then I’d toss them and replace them. If they still look ok then use away!

Could you suggest me some clays, Mike? I’ve used Claymation, Clutch XL and Cavalier. Among these loved Cavalier as my hair is thick and heavy. Thinking of trying new stuff 🤔

If you liked cav I’d stick with it as I haven’t yet found a true replacement for it. But that apestomen clay had some serious gold, the stickmore clay fiber is also up there I think, ocean clay from Shehvoo is also one more.
