Are you tired of not knowing what goes into the products you use on your hair? 🤔 It's time to reclaim control over your personal care routine and save money while in the process! In this video, I'll teach you how to create your own all-natural hair clay, free from harmful chemicals. No more crap in your hair products.
I also break down the cost of my DIY natural hair clay and compare it to store-bought alternatives, demonstrating just how much money you can save. I also reveal the surprising truth about common problem ingredients found in mainstream hair products and why they might be affecting your hair.
🌱 Discover the power of natural ingredients.
💰 See how much you can save with my DIY solution.
🚫 Learn about the harmful ingredients you should avoid.
*USE THIS FORMULA TO SEE HOW MUCH MONEY YOU CAN SAVE*
($Store bought price - $2.90)*93*batches per year/store bought weight
All you need to do is:
→ Replace the "Store bought price" with the dollar amount.
→ Replace the "Batches per year" with the number of jars you go through in a year.
→ Replace "store bought weight" with the gram amount
MAKE SURE THE DOLLAR SYMBOL IS THERE WHERE NECESSARY.
For example, if I have a product that is $25, is 75 grams, and I go through 4 per year, I would write:
($25-$2.90)*93*4/75
In this case the answer would be $109.62, that's how much I would save per year.
*INGREDIENTS*
→ Kaolin Clay: amzn.to/3M2UJ8U
→ Bentonite Clay: amzn.to/3QmCTzZ
→ Shea Butter: amzn.to/46CQUzg
→ Bees Wax: amzn.to/46CQWXU
→ Coconut Oil: amzn.to/48X6c3w
→ Castor Oil: amzn.to/45EGxKf
Disclaimer: I did not buy my products from Amazon, I bought from a small store in Sweden. I can therefore not stand behind any of these products.

Thank you so much! I’ve tried to make my own hair products before but have not ever gotten the best texture for it. This clears it out perfectly! Thanks!

the one i like costs 30usd per jar, so im def gonna save a ton of money. the one i buy, claymation, has bentonite as first ingredient, so im pretty confident i can just do something similar with some bentonite, wax and oil

Hey Philip, hows it going? Loved the video! I'm hoping for more videos in this category! I usualy use this kind of hair pomades for holdin the shape of my beard, so I need some extra holding / firm fix. Do you have any tips for this variation? I live in Brazil and is hot as hell here these days... just saying bc im thinking of skiping the coconut oil. Thanks!
@theNamesPhillip
@theNamesPhillip 5 ай бұрын
Oh interesting, I’ve never tried it on the beards! Removing coconut oil is probably a great idea because even Sweden gets too warm for it to be effective in the summer 😂 I would say up the beeswax a little and also the sheer butter. If it becomes a bit too hard of a mixture, more castor oil might be needed in order to make it easier!

Hi mate! Really enjoying the videos so far! So glad your video on vivos was recommended to me, was doing quite a bit of research on them as I’ve just made the switch myself. I’ve just been reading “the myth of normal” by Gabor Mate and “Breathe” by James Nestor, interested to know if you’ve read of heard of them yourself? I’m now realising I have to learn how to walk and breathe properly and just wondered if you’re planning on doing any videos in these areas? Have a good one man, keep up the good work!

First of all, thanks for the thoughtful comment, it's very motivating to hear! I have not read the Gabor Mate book but I am aware of his work. I will add it to my reading list for sure! I have read "Breathe" and it was a super enlightening book for me and is one of the things alongside cold-bathing that really helped me understand the benefits of holistic wellbeing and natural living. I will have a think about a way I can position these videos but year sure I would like to make a video on this!

hey Phillip, I've just ordered all my stuff (in the UK it came to £60 which I thought was a bargain without essential oils) but was wondering with your wet mix what total weight of Kaolin Clay and Bentonite Clay did you do?

Hello! Cool video. I like to use gel for my hair while it’s still slight damp as it helps darken my graying hair, making it look well… Less gray. Would you happen to have a natural recipe for a stronger holding gel? Thank you!

Xanthan gum, water and sugar. Sounds funny but try it. It's pretty good for being natural. But it will go bad fast if you don't use a preservative. I use germall

"Phillip the Foot Guy"... hahaha!!!! I truly enjoyed this video, mainly because I am also a natural redhead and although I do not use "hair clay" I have spent sooooo much money on hair products over the years and I have finally found one that works for me with NO Parabens, or other harmful ingredients. My daughter introduced me to an app called Yuka, that when scanning labels of products, lists all the ingredients (good and bad) and I've found that most Shea Moisture brand products are the best! And they seem to work great for my (fading) red hair and fair skin! If you are familiar with this brand, please let me know what you think! :)

Thank you very much I’m really glad you liked the video! Yes, well, I’m not familiar with Yuka, I’ve tried a similar app and they’re very good! When it comes to the Shea Moisture products, they do seem to be really good! They don’t necessarily have a styling product that would be similar to this one, but the products that they do have seem to be very well thought out. I wasn’t aware of this company So thank you for bringing it to my attention, I’m going to have to try out some of their stuff! 😁 If I was to pick out a few things, it would be the use of corn syrup (which some people can be sensitive to) and seed oils. I think it’s super difficult to make products without these, however and there’s always going to be something to pick up, I still think these products seem very good! I personally tried to stay away from seed oils in my hair product, but I couldn’t get the formula to work properly without. The reason I wanted to stay away from seed, oils was because when I removed seed oil from my diet, I found i didn’t sunburn as much. I will need to try this again in the summer to make sure it wasn’t the one off, but I’m quite sure. Again, thank you for your lovely comment and suggestion.

I find that using the kaolin clay once applied to my hair leaves white streaks and tiny pieces of clay residue. Any tips on how to get a smoother finish?

what if you replaced castor oil with jojoba oil? does it have the same properties to create the hold?
@theNamesPhillip
@theNamesPhillip 5 ай бұрын
Nice suggestion, I tried it once and it worked ok but it didn’t feel like I could get very much volume in the hair compared to when I used jojoba. I guess you could add more shea butter to counter that but I don’t know how effective the end product would be. I would definitely give it a try though, you might be onto something!
