there's so much i love about chris: his tenaciousness, his fresh sets and locations, his thought provoking guests and topics. but if there's one thing i love most is how well he understands the power of silence. allowing for moment of pregnant pause encouraging the guest to elaborate. may we all practice this more in our day to day lives ❣

I wonder what its like to have so much going on in such a small time. Between the podcast and the preparation going into them, staying fit and sane, dealing with tenitus and other things(including a question of purpose), and somehow you still stay so cool and calm to an inspiring point. Im proud of how far youve grown. Im not sure if you hear that often or not, but i genuinely am.

With the Weinstein thing. The problem is that they have us arguing about very fringe issues that affect a very small percentage of people. They force fringe issues into societies conversations that they know are controversial and not possible to solve so that we constantly argue about issues that don’t create real change. They want things to stay the same. They will continue to interject these “issues” into our conversations until we have the foresight of a nation to reject and resist the urge to argue about things only a small percentage of people should be talking about.

Am I right to say these fringe topics have a goal of further separating humans? You know with the trans people thing, people became more reluctant to stand by the lgbtq movement and its ideas, But in reality I honestly don't have a problem with gay folks, I felt a rift is what I would say. and in the states, People are more divided than ever

Very true - I was hoping most people saw what he was doing. He was full-on arguing the very most marginal, fringe cases of human pathology, then made a strawman of it and blamed the right for not being sensitive to and accepting of those cases, which is just outright false. He also made the admittedly scientifically baseless and emotional claim that he thinks one sexes brain can somehow wind up in the other sexes' body. He made absolutely no rational cases on those topics. But to his slight credit, he at least begrudgingly and euphamistically pointed out that the behavior in question is a "software issue" (aka mental illness).
@MrFlightDirector7 күн бұрын
The first one with Eric was interesting… a rational argument from the left. What a concept. Although I’m more onboard with Chris’ viewpoint, at least Eric is making a valid case. That’s the left we need.
@Anthony-ju6ch7 күн бұрын
He's a dingle berry. Truth be that, when we're young and ignorant, boys will look at the left 'gun control' and 'body positivity' messages as for women, primarily. Rationally, anybody can think of themselves in their teenager way of thinking and come to these conclusions.
@Snake-filledChimp6 күн бұрын
Eh... his argument boiled all the way down to the most extreme medical edgecases possible, then he made it a strawman by saying the right doesn't accept/understand those people. That's not very rational, I think. Also, he believes with admittedly no scientific evidence that a woman can have a man's brain and vice-versa, which is obviously irrational nonsense.
@Snake-filledChimp6 күн бұрын
He made few rational arguments: he was arguing the most extreme physiological syndrome related edge-cases, then made it a strawman by asserting that the right doesn't accept and/or understand those people, which isn't true at all. To a small amount of his credit, he did say that he believes one of the sexes can "have the others' brain" and that it's a "software issue", which is just a euphamism for mental health issues. That's true.

We should tell kids that getting married, having kids and taking care of your family is the best thing you can do in life. I did all the other things too but it all dwarfs in comparison of my family. It's the only thing I'd die for with a smile on my face. All the secondary life goals the kids can figure out on their own.

Erics such a good example of a complete person. Ive heard him come off poorly, ive heard him say things i disagree with, ive seen him have conversarions where i dont think hes in his best state of mind But i hate it when internet intellectual doorknobs make some sweeping comment about how "hur dur eric so dumb" when what he actually is is someone with a spine Hes arrogant, probably has a higher opinion of himself than he should sometimes, chases the spotlight, has a clearly deep desire to be viewed as some kind of renaissance man And hes also human. He doesnt try to carefully construct this false image of himself, hes authenitcally him Hes incredibly smart, and someone i very much enjoy listening to. His willingness to express himself authentically, not carefully considering every tiny word he says, is something i really admire By that i mean, he obviously thinks a great deal about the things he says. But i work as an engineer and being too cautious to put forward your thoughts means youlll always be grubbing around in the dirt Ive said more stupid things or suggested things that wont work mroe often than ive suggested things that do. I value the input of others. People are too scared to be wrong, and i dont think eric is wrong often but i do think hes willing to discus ideas that are still works in progress in his mind And i really respect that

chrises advice to protect your passsion no matter what kindof flies in the face of "show up no matter what". because if you show up no matter what then you will build resentment towards what you are doing. and then supposedly you are supposed to push through that resentment but that will just build more resentment so at some point you will be running continiously on fumes at moments when a full burn could give you everything. really something to think about. im not sure what to do with that info.
@brennenj6 күн бұрын
He kind of elaborated on it saying that you only build that true resentment when you’re not taking care of yourself, not rewarding yourself, not doing or achieving the things you want within the passion with people that care about you; I think that is what delineates the difference between having resentment and being challenged
@larsh29233 күн бұрын
Why is Chris so intersted in talking about children, but not having children. It's like talking about swiming without ever been in the water.
@lPlague.Күн бұрын
Personally, I think it’s important to ask several questions about children. Childbearing and raising is quite a job and it’s not the easiest thing to do. I believe it’s best to get counsel or wise instruction from those who’ve had children already. Roughly quoting what PBD said, “Those who are hyper analytical about becoming good parents and asking a lot of questions is far more beneficial rather than to not think about it at all.” It shows maturity in those type of people. Being interested in children and talking about them shows that they are considering factors like financial stability, emotional readiness, and ability to provide a supportive environment for a child.

There is no job no career no social status that is even in the running for the most important job a human can do , being a parent especially a mother which is the most important job a human can do
@Louis-mg5jf6 күн бұрын
Not really, as a parent you have a responsibility for one individual albeit a big responsibility. President of a country or some other ultra powerful position your decisions affect the lives of thousands or millions so I would say that is more important
@TheMikesylv6 күн бұрын

It takes a father and a mother in equal parts to make a person. Neither job is more important than the other.
@TheMikesylv3 күн бұрын
@@MA_KA_PA_TIEI guess one parent being more important than the other is a personal opinion. My view is the woman has a greater responsibility given she is carrying and responsible for the child developing in her body. After the child is born both parents have there own unique contribution to parenting which is equally important. I guess we are splitting hairs here. It’s all good I respect your opinion regardless

I think it is a mistake to conflate biological sex and gender. Chromosomes don't lie but how you express yourself is a separate issue.

@2:30 But they DO understand human development. They are purposely trying to break little boys while they are young. This is not accidental, this is by design.

most people who support trans rights also agree that it shouldn't be pushed onto children through surgery, hormones, or otherwise. you can still support trans rights even if you disagree with how it's currently being pushed on kids it's a complicated issue with many layers to it, opinions on it shouldn't be looked at as completely black or white yknow

I lost a lot of respect for Eric with that take about the trans movement. Classic fence-sitting. "Those people say 2+2=4, and those other people say 2+2=5, so I'm going to be in the middle and say 2+2=4.5. Aren't I smart???"

This guy is always telling people what to be and what not to be. Have you ever tried not giving advice? It's a great attribute.

It’s literally his job and his passion to shard advice from other great ppl. If u don’t like it just stop listening it’s that simple

I don’t think that’s the intention. Sharing knowledge and wisdom from facets of society and culture isn’t pushing agenda. You can take it or leave it as the audience. Or you can be a douche bag too. Your point is? Pretty sure he practices from the knowledge he’s gained just like you or I… take it or leave it pal. I don’t find it pushy to show other ppl how to live a more fulfilling life but you seem bothered by that. I don’t see the threat in that, but then again I’m a pretty damn secure human and work hard to be that way. Maybe you should listen to a thing or two him and his guest say. You might learn a thing or two and decide not to throw stones as often.

@rudeone1 I get to.have an opinion, too ....I'm sorry you aren't secure enough to see that and need to write a novel about.
