Wa alaikum salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh my beloved sister, may Allah ta’ala bless you 100 times more than what you pray for me, allahumma ameen ❤️ South Africa is a great place, there’s a lot of halal options and also the Muslim community is more visible there. Cape Town is fine as long as you don’t as we say in Afrikaans “moenie die noodlot uit toets nie” which basically just means don’t go looking for trouble like walking or driving late at night alone, keep your valuables safe by not putting it on display, don’t give anyone the time if they ask because that means you’re probably getting robbed a’oothubillah lol and just always be vigilant and avoid high crime rated areas. Also, workers striking is common and usually they’ll let you know to avoid certain areas when they’re protesting because some protests do become violent. I don’t know much about Durban but from what I’ve heard, Cape Town is safer than Durban but I don’t know from my own experience.
