@@seekthetruthandthetruthwil2388what a weird comment this is, where did you get this source? I've learnt Islam for more than 10 years with reputable scholars and never heard any scholars quoting this. In fact all believing women we knew have been wearing modestly such as Maryam AS (mother of Isa/Jesus AS) hence you see even Christian nuns wear head coverings as a sign of modesty. It shows that there are ideas of women covering up before Islam comes.

@@SherryRiku94 nuns wear as a rule of their community, not a biblical sanction Check the Hadith as to why Allah commanded Muslims to wear hijab , thanks to umar and Sauda and not to women from Hawa onwards No mention of biblical Miriam wearing hijab. It’s Quran Maryam with hijab that jibreel pushes aside to blow into her farjaha to create Isa Sura 66:12 and 21:91. Scholars will never tell you, even when I followed Allah,when Muslims told me Islam is the truth, they only said Muslim women should wear hijab or else people will look at them like lollipops.
@SherryRiku9411 ай бұрын
@@seekthetruthandthetruthwil2388 "check the hadith" the moment I see this I already know I can't trust you. The way to learn Islam is not only by self-checking stuff and interpreting them with our own mind, but to learn through the scholars who have proper sanad (i.e chain of knowledge passed through from the time of the prophet), get a certification and by practicing the religion with whatever the knowledge we have simultaneously. Just like any critical courses require us to learn from recognised institutions before we can be recognised as someone who studied it, and some come with practicals that we need to be able to perform. I'm sorry by the distorted message of Islam that you got from muslims around you, as I have never been told the same thing. If you do not memorise the Quran, and don't remember at least 100 hadith, sorry but whoever you are, you are far from qualified to tell me what hadith to look at and tell me what Islam teaches. I'm not gonna buy it. Peace be upon you and may you be the true seeker of knowledge and the truth soon :)

It has nothing to do with "good spiritually". The origin of the hijab in Islam came from the peeping-Tom molester Umar Al Khattab, he was Muhammad's 4th father-in-law and he used to watch women answering the call of nature outdoor at night and he didn't want to molest Muhammad's wives by mistake as his targets were the servants and "whores"/non-Muslims so he got Allah to reveal the 'Al-Hijab' verses to mandate for them to veil up: Narrated `Aisha: The wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqi` at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. `Umar used to say to the Prophet (ﷺ) "Let your wives be veiled," but Allah's Apostle did not do so. One night Sauda bint Zam`a the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) went out at `Isha' time and she was a tall lady. `Umar addressed her and said, "I have recognized you, O Sauda." He said so, as he desired eagerly that the verses of Al-Hijab (the observing of veils by the Muslim women) may be revealed. So Allah revealed the verses of "Al-Hijab" (A complete body cover excluding the eyes). (Sahih al-Bukhari 146) Quran 33:59, a 'Al-Hijab" verse was revealed to only protect hijab wearing women from being molested by Muslims when outside: Yusuf Ali: O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. So shamefully vile.

@@nadineajrad3723 As a Christian, I can tell you without biased that Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, and Jesus were ALL Jews. There isn’t even a debate on this among Christians. As a Christian, I consider Jesus the leader of the Christian faith. That doesn’t change the fact that Jesus Himself called Himself a Jew. So did all the other profits. The reason Jesus came to earth was to continue the prophecy of the Jewish faith. Unfortunately, most Jews rejected Him. That is why the few Jews and other people who followed Him had to start an entirely new religion, called Christianity. If the Jews had accepted Jesus as their savior, the Christian religion wouldn’t have ever been invented. Since Jews choose to believe Jesus wasn’t the real Messiah, they kept their religion, and followers of Christ started a new one. None of this changes the fact that Jesus Himself followed the Jewish religion though. You can’t change history because you don’t like it. I wish Jesus called Himself Christian. You wish Jesus called Himself Muslim. Neither of us gets to decide what really happened though. Only the Bible can tell us what Jesus called Himself.

@@findingbeautyinthepain8965 Judaism appeared after Jacob, and regarding them being Muslims, if you understand the original meaning of "Muslim," which is someone who fully submits themselves to God and makes obeying God their life's goal, this was the condition of all prophets, meaning they were Muslims. The term "Muslim" in Arabic encapsulates all of this meaning. Since you are Christian, when Christ prayed to his Lord in the garden, he prayed in the manner of Muslims, placing his forehead on the ground. And when Christ said, "And this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent," this is exactly what Muslims believe. He never mentioned anything called the Trinity or the Son of God. Look at the drawings and statues of the Virgin Mary and her modest attire; it is exactly the way Islam commands Muslim women to dress. For your information, Islam in the Quran does not call you Christians but Nazarenes, and the miraculous thing is that the oldest historical document in which you were mentioned, referred to you as Nazarenes, a document older than the oldest gospel you follow and believe to contain the truth. This means that Christianity as a concept came after the time of Christ, precisely after the Council of Nicaea in the era of Alexander the Great, where the beliefs of the Nazarenes and the paganism followed by Alexander the Great were merged, giving us a cocktail called Christianity that pleased the pagan Romans. Did you know that what is happening now in Gaza is mentioned in the Quran, that there will come a time when the children of Israel will be powerful and will try to kill and eradicate the Muslims, even though they are a minority, and that the Muslims will be numerous but to no avail? Read the Quran, and you will understand a lot.

That’s the issue with the west constantly talking about equality to the point that people confuse that men and women are the same. Yes equality in rights is needed, but there is no denying that men and women are NOT created the same. It is only natural that men have a much higher sexual urge than women, so we are the ones covering up not them. Has nothing to do with oppressing women or not having equal rights. Hope that clears your question 😊❤
@i.121310 ай бұрын
@@nadaalbarwani9451 I know that, but if men have more sexual urge, then they should provide to contain it, by refraining their animal instinct with morality and faith, but not expecting and demanding women to cover up as if they are the issue. Am I right? In fact you’re agreeing with me on the fact that the covering on women’s head has little to do with modesty, but it’s a way to defend themselves from men not willing to respect women as free individuals, but conceiving them as sinners just for being themselves. That said, if a woman feels better in wearing a covering, for whatever reason, she’s obviously free to do as she pleases, but it should be acknowledged that covering your head is not equal to morality. Not understanding that is the reason why so many western women are attacked by islamic countries.
@muna_ally10 ай бұрын
Men are required to cover up in Islam. We don't think of it in the same way as we do with women because the West has hyper focused on the female aspect, but hijab (covering) is required for both genders. And although, you are completely entitled to your beliefs, Muslims (at least speaking for myself) do believe that modesty is attached to covering. And it's not because of the men. It's a personal relationship between that woman and God. To wear the hijab especially in non-Muslim countries is a choice and an outspoken desire that the woman wants to be closer to God and she's wearing her dedication literally on her sleeves. I hope this helps increase your knowledge. May you have a wonderful day.
@emmacherry209310 ай бұрын
Finally someone gets it. But unfortunately many cultures and religions turn this into something else so many woman don't feel loved.
@nadaalbarwani945110 ай бұрын
@@i.1213 the Quran does actually state that it is the responsibility of both men and women. In the same verse it says “tell your women to cover up and your men to lower their gaze”. The combination of both those things is what creates a peace that we have in Muslim countries. Minimum to no rape crimes, therefore we don’t have many parentless kinds as the west does. All in all we are very happy with the way we live and it seems that the only people triggered by us covering up is the west. Besides, us Muslims believe that god knows what’s best for us better than we do. So no it’s not mainly about protecting ourselves from men. First and for most it is about Obeying god. And you might see it as oppression. But it actually gives us a complete feeling of liberation putting our lives in his hands and trusting he knows what’s best

So kind These ppl are are so opened I wish people would learn more about religions. Just learn about it or convert. Either or. When you learn you becimr award and wont ask or do certain things with or near that person. To this day im stoll fighting for my life just to get people to not ask me to hangout on the sabbath

"Learn about it and educate yourself" - 100%, but "convert" -why?.. Is it even appropriate to preach about it? Just because religions are complex and there are so many beautiful things as you dive deep, doesn't mean you have to be involved in that religion and convert

Why did Allah command Muslim women to wear hijab only after umar saw Sauda at her bathroom business at night Why not hijab for all women from Hawa onwards

you have a point, just because something feels beautiful doesnt mean you need to convert to it. But it's different, you shouldnt convert to Islam because its just "beautiful", its because its the truth and the only truth. if Islam is true then everything else is false, if you dont revert to Islam, you won't be in the truth. "And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed [i.e., difficult] life, and We will gather [i.e., raise] him on the Day of Resurrection blind." I wish we could authentically share culture like this more often. I wish I could wear one on bad hair days like older women in 50s wore scarves but it’s not looked at as professional if you’re not apart of the culture or even looked at as disrespectful to the people in the culture. But I also have had friends in college who wore sometimes and not others and I’d really like to adopt that.

i think modesty is a virtue in many ways, not just for women but for men too, even though its often disproportionally applied to women. i also think it’s important not to disregard ex muslims who gave it up because they see it as a symbol of oppression, because historically speaking there’s always been some truth to that statement. but just because collectively many people interpret the hijab as oppressive, doesn’t mean it has to be. for many women this isn’t the case, and the hijab exists as a symbol for different things depending on their circumstances. for example, a muslim woman in a western country might feel empowered to wear it because her surrounding environment may often disregard her experience and identity. there’s truth and validity to that too. reality is subjective. no one should be judged for wearing a hijab but also no one should judged for choosing not to wear one. a lot of these comments are lacking nuance, when the world isnt that simple. wear what you like, that is power.

Im not muslim, im a christian. However my faith believes in modesty as well. Unfortunately we get mocked for it and people say we dress like nuns (we dont, insulting to them too). I enjoy seeing videos of people trying the hijab for the first time. My friend is muslim but doesnt wear it, shes not married. Though she has much respect for it because her mother wears one. When that one woman said something about how the attention is away from your hair. Thats how my faith is with our clothing, we cover up as well because wearing down clothes brings unwanted attention.

I feel more secure in it. I heard this a lot when non-Muslim girls wear hijab. It looks like Allah wired women in a way that they feel more comfortable and confident in hijab but a certain group of evils have always advocated against it.

@@malikmustafa1373 nuns wear that clothing to distinguish that they belong to a particular group . The Bible never commands women to become nuns or dress like them. @@seekthetruthandthetruthwil2388 The best-known view on Christian headcovering is delineated in the Bible within the passage in 1 Corinthians 11:4-7, which states that "every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head".

I think this video is in poor taste especially as women in Iran are currently getting attacked.....or even worse by the "morality police" for simply not covering their hair. I know the hijab is seen as an obligation for Muslim women but videos like this portray it as a fun item to wear.....unless its her way of getting the non Muslim girl to "embrace Islam" but in a polite and fun way.
