I have a question because I have a friend who is also Christian and she tells me modesty means covering everything up to the elbows and knees, and that women aren't to wear pants....idk that hard in terms of creating style, and I just want to hear your thoughts when you have a chance. thank you!

Hi J J, thanks for watching and for your comment. Love discussing and delving into this topic. There are different Christian groups who abide by certain guidelines when it comes to the way they dress. Some are thoughtful and useful guidelines and other are very strong and heavily projected as ‘the only way to dress’. My thoughts really go to the reasons why. In any given topic, instruction, advice, the reasons why are so key. I’ve looked into the why of women bit wearing pants and this conversation needs it’s own video tbh, but in short it’s not a salvation point when it comes to wearing it or not. The most important thing is our understanding of the gospel, what Christ came to give us and us being restored back to the original image - His. Wearing pants doesn’t take away from that, from the studies I’ve done and from overall seeing Gods heart through the scriptures. It’s not a requirement to all to cover up up the elbow and knees, but it is helpful in some styles of dress, some settings, and generally in convictions the Holy Spirit gives us. Some things are universal, like we should all place our faith in the Son to get to the Father. However the wearing of clothes etc, all starts at the heart first with the expression / choices in clothes not being the deciding factor of if we are loved or not, or a show of if we are close to God or not. I have more to say but hope this helps. Romans 14 is a great passage to read and to understand the heart of modesty in some of the guidelines expressed in the Christian communities. 💚

You’re welcome Robin. On its own the off shoulder look is not teasing. I think how we carry ourselves matters a lot when it comes to some of these style options. Yet if on a personal level you don’t feel comfortable with an off shoulder then by all means stick to that, but I wouldn’t rule them out for all ladies on its own. 🤍
