Your dress is questionable. And you can’t check in with yourself you have to keep checking in with Gods word. The Holy Spirit will teach you if you listen to him. You can’t trump scripture with scripture and that’s what you’re doing. Once God says dress modestly you can’t then come along and say that means in the church only. Propriety has to mean something else then because modesty has already been established. Gods wants your reverence no matter where you are. I don’t care if you are in Jamaica bikini and bathing suites and your naked sun dresses are a NO NO! Some man will see you and lust, it’s a gateway for masturbation and pornography. You don’t what to cause anymore to stumble. Your body is suppose to be for your husband eyes only. And scripture says what comes from your heart will manifest itself on the outside. So when your heart is filled with lust, ego and self preservation then you will dress just like what you’re saying the way you want to! God has told men if they look upon a woman and lust he’s committed adultery in his heart and here you come with your breast hips and thighs out making it that much harder. No we shouldn’t dress sexy unless we are at home with our husbands. We can be stylish and classy and not expose body parts or have on form fitting clothes that draw attention to ourselves. When you want to please God, it doesn’t matter what you want to wear but what God wants you to wear. The Bible says every man thinks he’s right in his own eyes. Sister, you are acting as a teacher and if you get this wrong and cause someone to stumble God is going to hold you to a greater accountability. You don’t want that! You quoted all the right scriptures but with the wrong motives and using them out of context. .You’re too busy trying to “clap back” and not seek Gods face on this issue. When I first got saved one of the first things God talked to me about was modesty. And I was, compared to my peers but he wanted more, he asked me what are you willing to give up for me. When you meet Jesus for real modesty won’t be “subjective” as you call but it will be crystal clear. Holiness doesn’t have a geographical area it’s a life style and without it no man will see God. No, God is not Glamorous he’s Holy! You’re being warned it’s up to you if you don’t listen… Go before God sister, ask him to open your eyes, ask the Holy Spirit to teach you, he will but you have to get out of your own way. Much Love

You're right about one thing. You can make the Bible say whatever you want it to say. I used to make similar arguments as you would because my spirit loved seeing pleasures of sexy, cute, beautiful ladies, to gratify myself. This selfish nature is wrong. One spirit wants to take the clothes off and get a feeling of excitement by showing off, while another desires repentance of self that Christ might be glorified. Jesus could have showed off, but instead He came to earth in a manger. He could have been glamourous as the King of Kings, and many Jewish people expected Him to come glamorously, but He didn't. The Bible says there was no beauty that we should desire Him. Be careful next time you pray to be like Jesus for there was no reason to like Him for beauty. John said, I must decrease that He might increase. We should do the same. When earth's lights are shining so bright, it's so hard to see the stars in heaven let alone the bright and morning star. How will people see the star of David, when there's so much light pollution of earthly bodies. Yes, in the last days, God's people will shine. But God's Kingdom is within people. Satan's Kingdom is without. The Pharisees were the one's with the glamourous robes and garments but not Jesus and His fishermen disciples. Cain was the one who offered a beautiful sacrifice and was rejected. Able offered a bloody lamb. "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18 Desiring such temporal things such as beauty the Bible says is vain. Beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised. Outward beauty gets men to worship and idolize women. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5bPd4KrlMmBrZI This Idolization is against the first commandment. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." The spirit of the world is pulling women to shine their bodies, the other spirit is pulling women to shine Jesus in word and deed from their hearts. "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." Ephesians 5:8 Seeing a beautiful woman's body is wow, there's no argument about her body's sexiness for she can bring down many mighty men. "And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart." "For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her." It would make you sick to see what men think and do to themselves looking at women. It wouldn't be a temptation if it wasn't tempting. It's highly tempting. It's powerful to control men. It may please the whole church, and the whole church could be given over to lasciviousness. We might selfishly like near nakedness to enjoy it's pleasures for a season. But this vanity can not satisfy. I could look and look and stare, and desire more flesh to look at, and want to show off more and more and get other people to show off more and more, but it leaves people in depression because it's vain. The beauty of a Godly woman is her spirit. God's Holy Spirit really does satisfy till you'll have no need for the fleshly things of sexy, cute showy clothes. You'll stop thinking such a vain thing is worth elevating and glamorizing, and idolizing. Instead, you'll cover decently so that the focus is drawn to a Godly spirit, to Godly wisdom, to Godly humility, to Godly charity. By hiding the outward, the inward can shine, but if the outward shines, then the crowed will come to see the outward, and not the inward wisdom that is so often despised. "Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard." Ecclesiastes 9:16 God help us all

So I can't care about how I look on the outside because I'm a Christian woman. Noted.
@jeremyb21202 жыл бұрын
@@nisamae2 I'm sorry, that's not what I meant. Shining like the sun will put the focus on us; the people will worship and like us for our looks, and then when someone else shines brighter, they'll forget us and move on. The end of beauty is depressing. If that is where our treasure is, then we're setting ourselves up for disappointment. What we care about and where we ought to spend our time says a lot about our worship. I missed saying this: If we glow like the moon and reflect the Son of God; the worship and focus will have people glorifying God rather than ourselves. They'll say we're a real Christian, a sweet soul, a loving heart. A sexy body won't be in those compliments. The outward won't be the main focus of compliments but rather our heart. Wouldn't we rather be validated for our good character and honorable nature, than for people to only see our worth in our looks and body? People do validate us due to looks. But God looks deeper. Jacob loved Rachel for her beauty, but Jesus's linage came through Leah, the ugly lady who sought God rather than beauty. Rachel had idols that she worshiped, Leah had God. Rachel had 2 sons, while Leah had 7. It'd be better to care about God first and beauty last. For God promises all these other things will be added unto us like (pretty clothes, food, riches, honor) Mat 6:33 Because Solomon cared most about wisdom for to judge God's people, God added all those other things to him, until a flower is compared to Solomon for all the beauty God gave him. Mat 6:29 Love God till we don't exalt outward beauty, and God will give us inward beauty, maybe even outwardly too, but care about beauty until we don't care about God, and God will take away the beauty that we think we have. Outward beauty can give us pride; how then can we increase humility by more outward beauty? Taking the lowest seat, and letting the master exalt us according to His will in the eyes of others with fear of pride should be our principle with beauty, riches, and worldly possessions, talents, gifts. Yet if any of these things give us pride, then little is better than much. The moon glows in the night. Sometimes it's colorful, big and orange. On occasions it's blue and beautiful like a rare rose. But it lets us see all the other stars in the night too. It doesn't boast of itself. Yet it reflects a glow of the Sun like the joy of Christ written on a smile. "It clothes itself with humility" 1 Peter 5:5 And it's validation is from the Sun.

As a Muslim it's quite shocking to see how many Christian women don't actually follow their religion. Where there is a verse in the Bible that is crystal clear on women's modesty they sort of change what it means and brush it aside and put the arguement of it matters what's inside. I mean you've only got to look at how most women dressed a couple years back and see most were modestly dressed. Also I'm not too sure what Christianity says about mens modesty but in Islam it's not only women who must observe modesty but men too for example men can't look at random women let alone touch them. And many more laws which prevent any sort of immoral actions and keep society safe.

I doubt anyone will see this because it’s not a new video but I can finally use some of my theology degree to maybe give some better points of clapping back. 1. Paul’s letters are written to churches and that’s why they start out with a greeting to that church. Timothy was at Ephesus and at this time this church was dealing with false teachers and prophets coming from Aphrodite‘s temple which could only be female. This is why much of first and second Timothy is focused around things women can and cannot do. 2. Make up, braiding of hair and golden jewelry at this time was seen adorning Aphrodite‘s priestesses and prostitutes. So as people of God we are called to not be up this world and Paul was telling the church at this time not to look like those non-Christians 3. Modesty is a personal decision and journey for each person. It won’t look the same for every single one and that’s why there’s no defining limits on what modesty truly is within the New Testament because God knew it would be a journey with the Holy Spirit 4. I would tell this guy to look at the plank within his own eye before trying to pull the spec out of mine because when men comment on other peoples holy spirit lead journey of modesty I think it comes out of their lack of self-control and restraint of dealing with lust and not working on their own journey with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Said to pluck out your own eyes if you look at other women lustfully but we in the western church have forgotten that and placed this burden of men lacking self control on us when God clearly placed on man. 5. Finally when reading the Bible it’s important to understand historical context language differences and the years and years and years of translation and lost manuscripts that have gone into the current scripture that we have which can leave a truly surface level understanding of what God called Christians to be

Guys as Christian people god speaks to us in many different ways, and you guys should know if we are doing something wrong or dressing wrong god would speak to us and tell us to stop, he gave us free will and a mind of our own, if something was wrong with what she was wearing or the way how she thinks he would’ve certainly spoke to her and tell her to correct her mistakes, every one has different views and opinions on things, don’t ever let someone’s opinion bring you down. She’s not purposely dressing to attract men or causing them to lust unlike some people do. A true man knows his limits and has respect for himself and women and wouldn’t cause them no harm. Guys please stop sexualizing these Christian women and telling them what they’re wearing is inappropriate when what she was wearing was totally fine, a woman can be fully clothed and a man would still want to lust at her. I don’t dress inappropriately but it just annoys me whenever someone tries to bring a woman down and make her feel bad, we aren’t god and he is our only judge. If we dress a certain way that accentuates our bodies because we want the attention and want people to think we look nice BECAUSE of what we wear, I don’t think that’s right. We should make ourselves attractive by the good things we do. “And I want woman to be modest in their appearance. I think it depends on how modestly you dress. Tight clothing (even if it covers your whole body) can attract lust. Short clothing(anything above the knees)can most definitely attract lust. That's why personally I would prefer more looser clothing something that doesn't shape up your body because anything that may shape up your body in a certain way that may reveal your body can't be considered modesty.

The commentary about how an "attractive woman" is dressed when we talk about dressing for modesty refers to showing bare skin and the shape of the body for all to see. Before the covid-19 pandemic, I would regularly see young women dressed in ways that are extremely similar to street walkers! Modest dress from a godly perspective is being fully covered not showing off the shape of the body which would be considered "sexy". Should a woman or a man display their beauty for the world or only for their spouse and family members? (meaning husband for his wife and wife for her husband). There's a distinct difference between dressing sexy vs. dressing with modesty in mind. "Flaunt/shake what your momma gave you" was a saying many girls and women I knew growing up embraced with glee. As a man I see modest dress for men and women as covering the shape of the body as to avoid appearing to advertise and promote sexual desire. A sophisticate woman can be sexy and attractive without showing her skin and shape with intention, thus the man she marries is looking more at her spiritual beliefs and personality instead of how "thick" she is or how beautiful she looks. Beauty then becomes the sub-category of what he sees after seeing her heart. [Br. Abdul]

A beautiful woman can wear a long sleeved turtle neck dress with combat boots, but because people find her attractive they want to find an issue with her. It’s even worse when you naturally have a shapely body. Men let their own fleshy desires and lust trip them up and other women are intimidated/jealousy. A lot of these lustful men and envious women will project these feelings on to other Christian women, deeming them “immodest” or “Jezebel-spirited”. It’s really all ignorance, misogyny, and legalism at its best. Sure modesty is important, but I also think it looks different for everyone. Hello, There are several scriptures throughout the bible that displays how God honors a clean and neat appearance. Before Esther met King Xerses, she spent an entire year receiving beauty treatment. The regular beauty treatment for the women lasted a year - massages with oil of myrrh for six months and with oil of balsam for six more. After that, each woman would be taken in turn to King Xerxes. - Esther 2:12 Before Jospeh went before Pharaoh, he made sure he was neatly dressed and cleaned up. Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh. - Genesis 41:14 The Proverbs 31 Woman wears Fine Linen and Purple She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. - Proverbs 31:22 If you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, people will be drawn to you. When people are drawn to you, you have a greater chance at leading them to Christ. Ultimately, whatever causes us to feel our best, I believe that is what God desires for us. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

It was not make up, she was ‘’beautiful of form and face’’(Esther 2:7).Beauty is considered vain(proverbs 31:30).It’s also used to “capture’’ or “take captive” the hearts of men as described in Testament of Ruben 2: 15 (“..and in their heart they plot against men; and by means of their adornment they deceive first their minds, and by the glance of the eye instil the poison, and then through the accomplished act they take them captive”). Proverbs 6:25 Make up is the adorning of a prostitutes in the biblical context, which Leviticus 19: 29 forbids women from imitating Leviticus 19: 29 “‘Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.’’ Ezekiel 23:40 “And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,” "So I will put an end to lewdness in the land, that all women may take warning and not imitate you”-Ezekiel 23:48 What did the women do that God didn’t want other women imitating in Ezekiel 23:48? It’s mentioned in Ezekiel 23:40 that they “applied eye makeup and put on your jewelry.” and in verse 42 “and they put bracelets on the wrists of the woman and her sister and beautiful crowns on their heads.” “Then I said about the one worn out by adultery, 'Now let them use her as a prostitute, for that is all she is.” Notice there are two different sins mentioned: 1.) sensuality (lewdness) 2.) adultery Make up etc is a form of sensuality(defined as “A preoccupation with the body and satisfaction of its desires”) which are works of the flesh. Romans 13:13 Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy Philippians 3:19 whose fate is destruction, whose god is their belly [their worldly appetite, their sensuality, their vanity], and whose glory is in their shame-who focus their mind on earthly and temporal things. 2 Peter 2:18 For speaking out arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error Do not desire her beauty in your heart, Nor let her capture you with her eyelids. Make up is basically is basically a lower level form of witchcraft;example is Testament of Ruben 2: 14 (“And whom they cannot bewitch by outward attractions, him they overcome by craft.”) Make up is considered a “wile”(device) used by women; example is Testament of Ruben 2:13 “For evil are women, my children; and since they have no power or strength over man, they use wiles by outward attractions, that they may draw him to themselves.” Psalms of Solomon 16:6-8 6 Remove not Thy mercy from me, O God, Nor Thy memorial from my heart until I die. 7 Rule me, O God, (keeping me back) from wicked sin, And from every wicked woman that causeth the simple to stumble. 8 And let not the beauty of a lawless woman beguile me, Nor any one that is subject to (?) unprofitable sin. 9 2 Peter 2:18 For speaking out arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error

There is also a context to what Paul is saying in Ephesians. We must remember that at the time, in Greece, women were adorning themselves like Cleopatra herself, and like so much of Hollywood today, to the point of putting their garments on display because they want to be idolised. He is talking about using outer appearance to define your character, instead of finding your identity in God first. Adorn yourself first with Christ, and adorn the body just as an enjoyment of life, not seeking approval or admiration. There is nothing wrong with fine clothing, but there is something wrong with parading a brand logo for social status.

Hey sis, you look gorgeous! 😊 I would say: I’ve learned along my journey with The Lord that no matter what environment a Christian woman is in, she should always attempt to dress modestly - this is determined by the fact that we are representing The Kingdom (as you rightly said) and we are part of a Royal Priesthood and a Holy Nation. The choice to show less skin is also about our commitment to Christ and honouring Him (and our husbands, if we’re married) not so much the environment - that’s almost irrelevant. Modesty begins in the heart and is a posture that we take on as Royal Daughters of Abba through the help of the beloved Holy Spirit. I like some of the points you made though. Thanks for a video on this relevant topic. My simple guideline as a christian man is this: If you dress to project sensuality and to mainly draw attention to your body, that is almost certain to be a stumbling block for most men dedicated to walk in holiness and purity. I believe that’s the reason Paul wrote what he wrote. You can dress beautifully without those vibes. This goes from the gym to the streets to the church. On the other hand women do need to dress ugly, tasteless and colourless. I have seen christian /religious women that look grey, bleached, dull and repelling. That is not glorifying to God either and will repel others too. But there is a classy and beautiful way to dress that represent dignity, holiness and confidence that is appealing for both God and others. I had a very good example in my mother. Best regards from Sweden 🇸🇪. Bless you.

As a christian woman, We are all beautiful in God’s eye,, the choice of how we cover ourselves is not for myself nor for anybody else… we dress modestly for the Glory of God.. We christians are not PEOPLE PLEASER but God pleaser.

Dr.Michelle recommend your video and now I am watching all of them. I love your message and appreciate your experience and perspective on this topic. Many of us come from diverse cultures and may misunderstand the meaning and message you shared with us. I want to stress the importance to learn from a diversity perspective lens because we all come from different cultures. I love learning about new religions and how beautifully you speak of God. Xoxo 💕🙏🏻

I think we can still be beautiful, but it needs to be a Godly, humble, modest beautiful, where we a representing Jesus. Not a sexy, look at me, worldly kind of beautiful.

In the culture Paul wrote that in, braded hair, etc, was worn by pagan/homosexual, and Paul did not want the christian woman to be confused/mistaken with them. History. Culture.

Go to God in prayer and read the word of God. Do not believe every KZbinr because that's what you want to hear. What you want to hear is different from what God is saying

First I really like your name! Now, I just want to give some food for thought. Since we are the temple of God and God never changes, wouldn't you think that if he wanted the tabernacle that was built in the old Testament to be glamorous he would want us to glamorous also? By the way I believe God allowed that man to come at you like that to get you to dig deeper into the word. It was for your good and now you are helping other. Keep on giving God the glory in your life.

Saw absolutely nothing wrong with your outfit. Was classy yet attractive. I do not agree with the notion that God wants his daughters to feel sexy and glamorous? Where does it say that? Matthew 6:25-34 tells us 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. If a woman is striving to be sexy who is it for? Is it to have men lusting after her? Or is it for her husband? So once again I disagree with the notion that God wants his daughters to be sexy? The whole concept of sexy is carnal and we already know that God is a spirit and not carnal nor physical. We must be careful not to put words in Gods mouth because of our own personal wants.

Thank you! I didn’t say “God wants His daughters to be sexy.” I said “God wants His daughters to be able to FEEL sexy.” And this would be of course, for ourselves. I believe feeling sexy is ok. This is of course, the first step to procreation, which is the first commandment that God gave to us. He said “Be fruitful and multiply.” How can we “multiply” if sex or feeling “sexy” isn’t in the picture? This is of course within its proper context.

If we rely in environment, we are letting the world determine what we wear. We represent God in a humble way.

Nothing wrong with heels, jewelry, hair, nails but the short dresses and shorts aren’t a good look tbh. If you have short items wear solid leggings under them that match the color of the item or wear thick stockings underneath
