@Sipa Zang Yes. You may know, but for those unfamiliar with the game, this the dev's way of dealing with the 1st vs 3rd person debacle. In Dayz, for example, you can play on a 1st person only server to eliminate the tactical advantage of 3rd person. Scum Devs thought of a more creative way to allow players to play either mode, without significant advantage. It works well in my experience. I usually switch back and forth between 1st and 3rd, depending on what I am doing at the time.

@@KeepMeATec its literally a game feature, if your awareness skill is low, you can't peek around corners in 3rd person to see someone. Alternatively if your stealth skill is high, other people in 3rd person can't peek around corners to spot you if their awareness skill is high. Its a balancing feature so players can't cheese the system sitting behind walls waiting for easy kills

A couple pro tips; if your too heavy you will sink while swimming and need to take off wieght before you can resurface, but you can still walk up a gradient or climb a ladder. Absinthe can be used to clean wounds before bandaging reducing risk of infection. This game is imo better on servers with pvp zones and arent full pvp its nice to be able to have a base in a safe spot and then travel to go pvp if i feel like it that way you dont lose everything to someone camping or possibly cheating. Theyve improved this game so much in the last year im excited to see what they do in the years to come

The bow in this game can be very powerful. Also that ping magic at the end is an intended mechanic that prevents people from third person peeking like in Dayz. If your first person camera doesn't see something then your third person view won't render it.

@@nabangokashyap5218 It's called SCUM. Basic lore of the game is that everyone is a criminal put on an island to be watched by rich people as they either make allies or murder everything they see. Pretty different than DayZ. Big difference is how loot is spread out across the map, In SCUM the best loot can be found in any part of the map as there are bunkers in each sector, there are places that have higher chances of the best loot but there is still a chance to find the good stuff in the normal bunkers too. SCUM has decent PvP, the PvE aspect of the game is awesome too and still being expanded.

That is a truly phenomenal thumbnail, I'm certain you don't know how much this video has affected me. Ever since 2009, my life has been in a downward spiral. My wife's boyfriend passed that year and I've been crying ever since. However, once I stumbled across this video my mindset warped. I was trying to better myself as a person by hydrating myself and asking if god could send me my vitamin statistics so I could properly keep my human vessel healthy. It was a rough 16 minutes, but along my journey I realized. The true hydration was not how many litres of H2O I had consumed, it was the friends we made along the way, and I'm truly thankful for this discovery. You have been humbly invited to my barbeque, you deserve it. My wife's boyfriend came back from the dead to tell me how good of a job I had done. My boss offered me a promotion and a large raise. My mother recovered from cancer and my 1993 chevy Silverado finally came back from the workshop. I will be forever grateful for all that you have done for me, so let me tell you one and hopefully not the last time. Great video Peli.

As kind of a joke, I’ve started drinking water while still watching modest pelican content. Then I had a thought about it and realised that I rarely ever drink water. i loved this game so much in the early days. i had build my camp deep in the snowy mountain woods. man i loved those woods. their sight always dissipated the tension i carried along while returning from a mission with precious loot. the smooth cool breeze running through the trees, the sound of the footsteps on the snowy terrain, all the impaled heads of the intruders i killed scattered around...it was home. then, as the game developped, the system requirements became too demanding for my setup, and i couldnt play anymore. it was a sad day.

One thing to remember in this game is when you are in 3rd person, you are only able to see other players as you would in 1st person, so no cheaty peeking around corners :)

15:40 He didn't teleported at you, you can't use third person to peak corners in this game. If something blocks your character view, it will hide whos on the other side though you can still hear them. It works the same if they are running behind you. It's recommended to always PvP in first person.

You'll have to look again and notice, you don't break your own neck, you mess with the chip thing in your neck, which has explosives backed into it. Tis why your head literally gibbed off your shoulders. Hard to do that via breaking alone. Also, you could have swam... you just can't in full gear like that, as is true in real life. You get so waterlogged, vacuum suctioned, etc, that your boots and such just weigh you directly down to the bottom. And no amount of effort will see you "swimming"... more so just sinking, and dying.

Within the first 5 minutes you should make a stone knife, a bow and a bag and some arrows. Crafting is very helpful even primitive struff. Also there is no 3rd person corner peaking. Players only render when your character has 1st person line of sight.

If you are not armed with a decent rifle or shotgun just let the bears flatten you. As soon as you get KO'd they will wander off. If you fight them with the spear they are much less friendly.
