If anyone wants to try the trigger stabilisation mod that Jeff did and doesn't have a machine shop, I did it earlier. 1. I recommend knipex pliers wrench [7 inch or smaller] to remove the pin. Mine was VERY HARD to remove. I couldn't do it with needlenose pliers. 2. Use small 1/2" piece of capton tape around pin. Trim the tape till the pin will fit. I had about 3/4 of the pin covered with tape. 3. That's it. My trigger is dead stable. No Wiggling. I really enjoy watching your videos Jeff + Dad !

Could shims on each side of the pin be used to eliminate clearance?
@Ebon_Wolf Жыл бұрын
@@LARRYBROADTMAN The pin a bit too skinny to fit snug in the hole. That's why I added a small piece of the tape on the middle of the pin. The clearance on the side wasn't an issue with mine.

To be fair, every gun can be improved with additional engineering or tuning. The manufacturers have to draw a line under what can be done on a production line. I have seen the boys make bits which make very minor differences but they love the engineering challenge.
@sub12airgunners Жыл бұрын
As said the trigger was pretty good to start with, we do these bits because we can we like our guns to be the best in the uk 😁

We should stop looking for excuses for the producers, or you bring a good product to the market and possibly with updates over time, but you do not hear from Brokock themselves that they pay any attention to it, destruction of a top product, which can actually become exelent, with the right Update@@paulblundell8033

Hi Jeff, great video again, just recieved my Ghost hp and the same as yours a bit of play in the trigger and feels a bit heavy. In the video you talk about a couple of springs but did I miss the bit with the second spring? I saw the centre one just above the blade. Is the second one on the long linkage? Ive heard the brass ends can be very difficult to remove? Keep them coming
@sub12airgunners Жыл бұрын
thanks for watching, yes the second spring is on the linkage the brass end come ok on the ones i have done, unless they have started thread locking them, the trigger pins can be a pain to get out the side plate tends to jam them in 😀

On the trigger mod, why not just use a slightly larger pin and a couple of nylon washers, one each side of the pin, surely that would do the same job?
@sub12airgunners Жыл бұрын
you could but then you would need to drill the action as well, this way the only machining is to a small component that's easy to replace 👍

A practise I carry out, after any trigger adjustment, is to hand smack the rifle action (not loaded but cocked) all around and bump the butt on the ground in order to check it will not go off on its own.

@joelee3111 Жыл бұрын
I also think BRK/Daystate should offer the upgrade triggers/parts. I did the sear surface polish / return linkage spring & now doing 1st stage spring. I am one who doesn't like the Ghost trigger no matter what is done with just allen key adjustments outa box. I shoot @ 100 exclusively with the Ghost & no way the factory trigger can get me were I need to be. Hopefully after the 1st stage spring change I will be happy. The rest I did made it much smoother. The trigger on my new Ghost was the worst of any air rifle I've shot in over forty years. Was like pressing a rubber ball. After many hours of work I've managed to much improve it, although that and my wolverine have the worst triggers of the 11 air rifles my son and I own.
@sub12airgunners Жыл бұрын
That's a shame ours wasn't the best trigger i have had, but not that bad know worse than my M3 but i will say they are all better in sub 12 fac they do get heavy
@markl4670 Жыл бұрын
My Impact trigger is also not great but is better than my Ghost. Still can't match a Weihrauch record trigger. Those and the trigger on my prophet are great. All my rimfire rifles have better triggers than my ghost. Although heavier weight, my full bore rifle has very good match trigger. .@@sub12airgunners

Great video, superb engineering skills, why the manufacturers don’t do this I will never understand. There’s nothing worse than a sloppy trigger system. I know that tolerance limits will apply within a trigger system but maybe they should be revised.
@sub12airgunners Жыл бұрын
yes it is very hard on a production line to have very close tolerances you can end up with a lot of hand finishing

It all adds up to making a great gun, even better….by the way that was the dimensions of the new trigger spring 😀

Actually just ridiculous that we consumers always accept this, a PCP of 2145 € and then you have to update it to make it a fine-shooting PCP. it is best to ignore the products, then the Producer must take action to sell his products. My BRK Ghost HP .25 has a crappy trigger way too heavy, unadjustable you should collaborate with daystate to offer these parts as an upgrade performance parts

I have had to spend lots & lots of time gettng the ghost trigger usable for 100 bench. Not competitive outa box, not even close. My Uragan gen 1 trigger blows the factory ghost away & purely by design. I think thats the part that bugs me .At $2200.+ the factory trigger is far from acceptable to me. The only reason I'm stubbornly hanging in there with modding the trigger is the accuracy potential of .30 Ghost's are extremely good. Joe
