That sandy silt looked way more comfy than just plain dirt that we have here in the northeast. Easier digging too. Just happened on this older video from the Corp. Great to see how his channel has evolved. Always great content.

Another great video. You can definitely use this shelter to hide from unfriendly parties in Escape and Evade scenario. I'm sure if you use a tarp and a ground cloth you can make this type of shelter with minimum effort as you wouldn't need to look for so much plants for insulation and the roof. I'd definitely consider this type of shelter in a WROL/Bug out event where you most likely dont want to be found by starving zombies when you are trying to rest. Thank you for the video. It is thought provoking.

This kind of shelter would save my bacon if I was caught out in the bush in winter (northern Canada) and I needed to get out of cold and a little wind. Dig it into a couple feet of snow and use evergreen branches as bedding and roof structure. -20 might actually get cozy. Good to go. This was great, thanks for the demo

I would love to try this someday! Some additional ideas: -If the tarp is large enough, let's also drape it over the walls and keep it down with rocks -Never build it on ground too HIGH either (lightening strikes) -How can we build a door? I say we weave one into the ceiling. It should let the fire heat in but keep hornets out. Or we could try a big rock(s). Any other ideas? Are these helpful?

There is really no reason for the leaves, all you have to do is lay the sticks over the dugout and make some mud with water and dirt, and shove the mud in the little cracks and crevasses so water goes not seep through. When you put the sand over it, it will most likely absorb all the moisture.
@sexysilversurfer5 жыл бұрын

@ronnibuck15047 жыл бұрын
He built this shelter in an arroyo (dry creek bed) where there is always a risk of flash flooding even if you aren't experiencing any rain at that location. Sheltering in a spot like this could cost you your gear or even your life.
