I was lucky enough to grow up in a time where kids actually just ran around playing in the woods, building treehouses and exploring, and parents only cared that you came home by supper time.

I’m a 72 YO 👵🏼 and really loved this video. Back when I was young, my grandparents lived near the river with very high walls of clay deposits. People with families would live there. They would dig into the clay and make shelter to live until the snow came. Thanks for a great lesson on survival! 😉

When I was a young girl we were poor,my dad was abusive and times were hard...but I would walk my 4 little brothers uo the alley into a field that had an enclosure nature made of twigs,vines,etc....I would have them go inside and sit and eat a little lunch I packed....crackers,pickles. I had hoped that memories made would soften the blows of a violent and harsh environment,upbringing... Your idea is truly a blessing for her....

That's a lot of detail gone into this build. I built an Igloo type shelter in Calif. While I was out there. I ended up building 4 shelters while I stayed in one location. The Igloo one I built out of a soft wood that grew in the area. It's was excessively dry while I was out there. I left in March of 2021. Now I'm living south of the most western Great Lakes. This is excellent sir! My cousin and I built a few of these when we were kids. Not at this level of course but it brought back fond memories of being on the creek. It amazes me that many people now would perish in the woods when food water and shelter are right in front of them. Sad really how far we've came from our ancestors. It's good to embrace technology but bad to become dependant on it. Y'all stay safe and God bless

This reminds me of Gong's (Daevid Allen&Co.) recurring Flying Teapot (and "Would You Like Some Tea?") theme. And you see it popping up in the artwork of many Gong/Daevid Allen (&Co.) albums/live shows/ performance art, etc... It's exactly the same, a little teapot with a round belly. Daevid would have loved this! He is one of my favorite artists, and made many amazing albums and artwork since the 60's (he was also a member of Soft Machine) I never heard one bad album of him, ever. He was always busy, and always made really fantastic new music until he died at age 77 in 2015. Gilly Smythe (Gong, Mother Gong) followed a few years later, they had I believe 4 children together, who where also part of their music/videos or fairy tales. Gong was like an artist's commune in the '70s, living together and making music and art together. All the Gongs (Family Gong, New York Gong, Maison Gong, University Of Errors, Daevid Allen, etc...) made incredible gems to listen to, relax to, and just to have a great time to!

Its so cool!!.It reminds me of a nest that a bird would make.I want to make one in my yard. When I was a kid, my friends and I used to play in a natural cave made from forsythia bushes. We had several rooms in it and we had picnics there.I also used it to hideout there when I skipped school later. It would be fun to try building a hut like this.

That was the coolest thing I've seen yet in off grid living. Ok- well, I've seen some fairly cool things, but this was just pretty cool to see so many materials in one place being used for a shelter;amazingly creative! Resourceful.

I used to do a lot of soil cement road base designs. And mix in place or pug mill. For state high ways parking lots etc.Using either orange clays sandy to loamy and shell mixes.Usually with about 6%-8% cement max.(4% the lowest and still met psi requirements). Orange loamy sandy clays with a good gradient of silica sands the best. Thinking it wood be great for adobe homes too properly engineered. Thanks Good Job Man!

I cant help but think one might want to make that "teapot spout" end tip to be more angled so that when it rains, snows, hails, etc. That having it come to an angled end, its more likely to not have as much precipitation run its way down into the inner living space. Even limits having directional wind too maybe-especially on the colder windy weather kinds of days 🤔 😘🧚🏼‍♀️🦄🐈‍⬛👍🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Yes that would be the better idea multiple angles would also slow the heats dissipation so the building would be warmer especially if you embedded fired stone into the walls. You would fire the stone to prevent it exploding while in your wall.
