How much bhp did it make?

@@arnoldkul3827 it was very low powered for 2 main reasons, it is used on track and needed endurance and the turbo actuator was very weak being high miles. Its now been repaired and its a completely different car to how it was when this video was filmed.

Mk2 had a Dodgy gearbox the length of time in between the shifts were insane 😂 I’m sure if Gearbox was okay it would have been faster or at least even. I enjoyed this hugely 3.2 sounds amazing 🎶

I think maybe the Driver Didn't had enough time in it ... Or maybe sh*ty downshifts ? Felt like a infinity to downshift that ... The flywheel didn't assist as well.

i knew something was up not only does the v6 mk2 make it power noticeably faster but also makes 40 more bhp, with an instant trottle no turbo lag longer power band and it was lighter. it just doesn't make sense how the mk5 won especially on track makes it even more sus.

didn't understand why they had a corrado 5 speed box with a 3.2 v6 that comes with a 6 speed manual anyhow that will slot right into a mk2!

Nothing wrong with the box. It was fully rebuilt less than 1k ago.

@@loomspace I wasn’t there on the day. But the car does shift faster than that. I can only put it down to lack of seat time in the car. All the modified cars are privately owned cars. So they probably didn’t want to risk damaging them by lapping them all day long.

I loved all the 11 mk2 I owned. Ive had most models .different .several special things. I loved my black 86 2 door jetta with sunroof. I'm from Canada and I had done everything to my 8 valve. Holds with 5.0 beat irocs and just the vette is slightly faster. All are slow now

I think Stig was sandbagging. I've raced a stripped out Mk3 Jetta with a tuned engine and suspension and it was able to keep up with much faster stock cars. He really didn't seem like he was pushing the car at all.
