At least it didn't catch fire like quite a few Castle Cremations have.

I have a Sonicwake that has fried 3 Flycolor 150 amp esc’s. I came down to believing it is my new motor, a 4074 with a 2364kv. The last esc melted every wire off of it, yes all five. I installed a new motor and esc #4. Will see if it flies!

I just killed a brand new fly color 150 after 30 seconds on 4s with the stock motor. So bummed. The original esc died from corrosion.

Like I always say it’s always something. I think the last 10 times I’ve been out. Somethings happened every time. Lucky thing it’s as fun working on them as it is Running. Keep up the good work.

Right! It's the journey not just the destination! Once your on the water and something goes wrong it's like quick sand, you just keep getting deeper and deeper in the sh!t. Lol.

Love your vids... I just got a blackjack v2. Any reccomendations for upgrades? Props, esc, battery suggestions...Thanks!!!!!

Spektrum 120, or ose 150 is a great esc upgrade, with the stock motor on 6s.

I converted a 150a-sl esc to use on my 3d printed catamaran, was so powerfull it melted my motor wires, bullet connectors, ended up with fried motor and esc. But ill give it another go, using thicker wires, i love that 30$esc capable of 150a on 4s. Expensive hobbies i guess😢
@IRONCLADRC9 күн бұрын
Yes, this hobby gets expensive, when you get your new setup installed, try a smaller prop, you may get cooler temps on your motor.

Man that sucks dude. I actually burned up a MM2 in one of my speed run cars the 3rd time out about a year ago......maybe it was a bad batch, or maybe just coincidence
@Weiun9 күн бұрын
Do the logs show what happened? I agree that was a manufacturing fault. Logs may help with a warranty claim, has worked for me in the past.
@IRONCLADRC9 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, this mm2 does not have data log.

You had good intentions BigB and was a great idea you executed perfectly although i figured you were going to have issues when i seen that heat sink so crooked and touching that female bullet. Unfortunately you will have issues getting warranty when you shaved all the cooling fins off, should of returned it when you seen the defect with the heat sink first. Lesson learned but this 120 amp esc not too expensive it appears.
@IRONCLADRC9 күн бұрын
You're right, the heat sink was definitely a red flag! I'll definitely try to be more careful in the future.

Hey Big B, sorry to see this happen, how can any of us know the condition of an electronic part until we use it. I sent you a FlyColor 120a ESC a while back. I didn’t use it for 3 months after receiving it from amazon and it never worked period. I thought maybe I did something wrong and you could figure it out, I guess it was actually a dud right out of the box too. I wish I had tested it as soon as I got it. BGFL
@IRONCLADRC9 күн бұрын
Yes, that 120 speed control was a dude, I tried everything, changed all the connections, and 3 different recievers with no success. On a positive note, I'm installing the 2968 rocket motors in the twin deltaforce 24, waiting on new conectors to arrive. Gonna be FAST. LOL

Ive had some good luck with warranties in the past, but i agree when they see it itll be a denial. Sucks that we have to test something brand new before modifying it, and i think even bench testing wouldnt have caught that, sucks.

It’s a gamble sometimes when you modify something new

Ive had some esc's not even fire up from new out of the box at home . I dont even bother trying to get my money back, as its the way of customer services to talk utter B/S and drive you nuts . Ive had real luck with the Plush range of esc's from HK and they are still cheap enough for guys that like to mod things . As always keep an eye on temps and dont over prop. Regards PJB

I never had issues with castle controller's normaly. Only one time with an MM2 in a 1:8 Scole Buggy it broke without reason like yours. I think the first MMM was a top esc, but we have to make it waterproof ous self. I did it alway with electric liquid tape and a little peace of clear lean ofer the leds. The MM2 is a damn bad controller, because of that I here more storrys like ours from it. And there was nearly nothing new, only the waterproofing and the issues. And the MMX ist the best! It has lot's of new features and clearly more power. For some old battery's sometimes to much power 😉😂😊 but it's a great thing. For me, I never buy MM2 again! The MMM and the MMX is the way to go. Or for less money Hobbyking Max 8 or the Ezrun 150-200A ones but this are high priced like castle and then I like caszle clearly more. Let me know when anyone is thinking like me about MM2. Happy New Year to anyone 🙌🏻😊👋🏻
@IRONCLADRC8 күн бұрын
Thanks for your insight and experience with the mm2, I may just pick up the mmx instead. You tha man! Happy new year

I don't think it is made for it , it's probably why it failed , common sense really ground doesn't work in marine because of airflow.
