You can weld that crack shut with a soldering iron and some hdpe (water bottle cap). Better yet, splint the whole cross bar to reinforce it.

Well, my wife's first comment was on how friendly and innovative us welder types are, lol. thanks for the vid, I'm ordering one now as life without a beard seems unlivable and the years of welding are taking their toll.

I'm glad to pass on the info. I just had to torch and weld galvanize this past week, and happy to report no fever or chills!

All of the parts of the Rasp-O-Rator are made of PVC, so the break can easily be repaired with simple PVC solvent available at any plumbing supply isle of your local hardware store. Such repairs are very solid.

Flexable tubing cut a little longer than the straight tubing will hang down and over shoulders and coat and use a large rubber band to hold the ends hanging together

I found it to be kind of hard to breathe through 2 filters at the same time. I also have the Junior. Breathing through one filter at a time is a lot easier. Maybe you could plug one side of the breather.

I’ve actually ran into an even bigger issue. UV light from welding is really hard on the plastic components. So are frigid temperatures. I’d really like to make a copper version that uses large air hose connectors and stainless reed valves. I would keep the plastic mouth guard though. I’d also put a plastic protector in place so my lips don’t freeze to it.

Nice mod of the resporator. There's one other similar mod I've seen. I'll likely do one to try better filters.

Hello there! I appreciate you making a video like this! Have had my resp-o-rather for about a week and a half now. I'm lookin to detail cars and am wondering what kind of filters you used brand wise and if they would work for detailing. Any help is appreciated, and cool video!

I use p100 filters from AOSafety. I had a whole case of them when my normal respirator quit, so I cannibalized it to make an adapter.

So, is your idea still working out? Is it breathable with the cans?

Michael Cthulhu has done this (EXACT same mod) and a slew of mods to his after using these for years and years. You could benefit from watching his 'that thing on my neck' video to see how to build one out, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. ;)
@@jameslong6086 He's where I got wind of the product to begin with!. It's not the exact same mod though, I wanted better filters on mine, a P100 is at least three times the filtration of the woodworking filters that come with the device. I wanted something that keeps out the fumes from quenching steel and heavy brazing. That said, I'm going to make one out of real copper, the plastic doesn't hold up very well. I've gone through at least six of them in the last year.
