This video shows how to change your room assignment after your initial selection in the University Housing Portal. This specific path is what first-year students see during room selection. The location of the process may vary for transfer students and returning students, but the general steps are the same. This process is only available before move-in.

So your prior room will not be released until you have confirmed the new room? Which means you can look and see what options have become available with each new wave?

Correct- you retain your room until confirming a new one. However, you are only able to see the rooms in your assigned wave- until all waves have had a chance to select.
