This may be a lame question but I'm brand spanking new to this so I have to ask.....at the very end of the video you have the roses sitting over in the gray area and they are looking as just outlines. If one was to cut these would it cut out the holes where the gray background area is showing thru and give the roses a "lacey" sort of look?

Anything in the grey area is just a holding area. If you move the roses into the white cut area over the mat and cut them with vinyl or paper they will have that "lacey" look. The rose is ID #74772 in the Silhouette Design Store, if you want it! :)
